European Young Conservatives
The European Young Conservatives (EYC) is a grouping of youth wings of conservative and centre-right political parties in Europe. As of 2014, the group has a membership of 25 political youth organisations from 22 different countries and territories, in addition to four associated members. The EYC is independent and not affiliated with any European political party, but maintains a non-exclusive relationship with the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe (formerly known as the ''European Conservatives and Reformists''). The EYC is a full member of the International Young Democrat Union. Christian democracy (sometimes named Centrist democracy) is a political ideology that emerged in 19th-century Europe under the influence of Catholic social teaching and neo-Calvinism. It was conceived as a combination of modern democratic ideas and traditional Christian values, incorporating social justice and the social teachings espoused by the Catholic, Lutheran, Reformed, Pentecostal, and other denominational traditions of Christianity in various parts of the world. Oliver Cooper (politician)
Oliver Cooper (born 1987) is an English Conservative politician and a prominent party activist. He was the leader of the party on Camden London Borough Council representing Hampstead Town. Career Cooper attended Dr Challoner's Grammar School and University College London. He is a lawyer and a former journalist. He was elected to represent Hampstead Town ward on Camden Council in 2015. He became the Leader of the Opposition after the 2018 elections. Ahead of the 2022 Camden Borough elections, Cooper chose to move from his 'safe' Conservative ward to the Tory-Liberal Democrat split ward of Belsize to try to increase his party's number of seats. He increased his party's share of the vote and came first among the Conservative candidates, but lost to the Lib Dems, ending his career in local government.
