European Federation Of National Youth Orchestras
The European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO) is the association of the national youth orchestras of Europe. Its mission statement is to "provide a unique platform for the exchange of experience in orchestra training". It is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. EFNYO is a member of the European Music Council, International Music Council, Jeunesses Musicales International and Culture Action Europe. Members Members as of December 2020. Sibelius Academy
The Sibelius Academy ( fi, Taideyliopiston Sibelius-Akatemia, sv, Sibelius-Akademin vid Konstuniversitetet) is part of the University of the Arts Helsinki and a university-level music school which operates in Helsinki and Kuopio, Finland. It also has an adult education centre in Järvenpää and a training centre in Seinäjoki. The Academy is the only music university in Finland. It is among the biggest European music universities with roughly 1,400 enrolled students. The Romanian Youth Orchestra ( ro, Orchestra Română de Tineret) is the national youth orchestra of Romania. Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa
The Portuguese Chamber Orchestra (OCP) was founded on July 5, 2007, and its debut took place on September 13, 2007, with the opening concert of the 2007/2008 season at the Grand Auditorium of Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon. The programme included the Overture to ''Der Schauspieldirektor'' by Mozart, the Symphony No. 6 by Schubert, and the Ballet suite ''Pulcinella'' by Stravinsky. The head office of OCP is in Oeiras, Portugal. History The artistic direction is assured by Pedro Carneiro, who leads this latest and most virtuous generation of instrumentalists. The Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) hosted OCP, first as Associate Orchestra, and since 2008 as Orchestra in Residence. OCP performed the opening season concert at CCB in 2007/08 and 2010/11. The National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO, nl, Nationaal Jeugdorkest) is the national youth orchestra of the Netherlands, founded in 1957. It consists of young musicians between 18 and 26 years of age. The Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (OGI, ''Italian Youth Orchestra'') is the national youth orchestra of Italy. It was founded in 1984 by Piero Farulli at the Fiesole School of Music. Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra
The Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra ( he, התזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית הצעירה, YIPO) is the national youth orchestra of Israel, based in the Jerusalem Music Centre, Jerusalem. It consists of 140 members divided into two ensembles, a 40-member string ensemble for ages 11–14, and the larger 100-member symphony orchestra for ages 14–18. Over 90% of the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra's graduates go on to higher education in music, with many taking up prominent positions in the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra
The Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO, gr, Ελληνική Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Νέων, ELSON) is the national youth orchestra of Greece, founded in 2017 by conductor Dionysis Grammenos. Since October 2020 the GYSO is Orchestra in Residence at Megaron the Athens Concert Hall and it is a member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras. During its three years of existence, more than 100 Greek musicians have been selected, after auditions, to perform with the orchestra, and over 1,500 young people have attended its educational activities. So far, the GYSO has given nine concerts in Greece, featuring world-class soloists, and two composers have been commissioned to write new works for the Orchestra.
