Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra
The Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra ( pl, Polska Orkiestra Sinfonia Iuventus im. Jerzego Semkowa) is the national youth orchestra of Poland. It was established in 2007 on the initiative of Jerzy Semkow by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Poland), Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It is composed of young musicians under 30 years of age. Youth Orchestra
A youth orchestra is an orchestra made of Youth, young musicians, typically ranging from pre-teens or teenagers to those of Music school, conservatory age. Depending on the age range and selectiveness, they may serve different purposes. Orchestras for young students have the primary purpose of music education, often led by a Conducting, conductor who is also a music teacher. Some youth orchestras have been set up by professional symphony orchestra, symphony orchestras, both as a training ground for future players, and as part of their community outreach program. Michail Jurowski
Michail Vladimirovich Jurowski (; 25 December 1945 – 19 March 2022) was a Russian Conducting, conductor who worked internationally, based in Germany for most of his career. He was particularly interested in the works of Dmitri Shostakovich, in concerts and recordings. Jurowski grew up in a musical family, where his father Vladimir Mikhailovich Yurovsky was a composer, and many prominent Russian musicians were family friends. He first worked in Moscow, but was from 1978 a regular guest conductor at the Komische Oper Berlin, then in East Berlin. With a 1989 contract for the Staatsoper Dresden, he moved to Germany with his family. He was music director of the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie from 1992, and the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock from 1999, followed by positions with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln. Eugen Indjic (born March 11, 1947 in Belgrade) is a French-American pianist. Biography His father was a Serb Yugoslav army general serving under King Peter II of Yugoslavia. Emigrating to the United States with his Russian mother, an amateur pianist, at the age of four, he there became fascinated by the piano four years later after hearing a recording of Chopin’s Fantaisie-Impromptu and Polonaise in A flat major. Jonathan Plowright
Jonathan Plowright (born 1959) is an English classical pianist. Life and career Plowright was born in Yorkshire, England. He was educated at Stonyhurst College, in Lancashire. He was a gold medallist at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where his professor was Alexander Kelly. He was also a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore with Julio Esteban. Janusz Olejniczak
Janusz Olejniczak (; born 2 October 1952 in Wrocław) is a Polish classical pianist and actor. Career Olejniczak began playing piano at the age of six. He studied under Luiza Walewska, Ryszard Bakst and Zbigniew Drzewiecki in Warsaw and Łódź. In 1970, he placed sixth in the VIII International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, and two years later he placed fourth in the Alfredo Casella Piano Competition in Naples. From 1971 to 1973, he studied in Paris under Constantine Schmaeling and Witold Małcużyński, and returned to Poland thereafter to study in the Higher State School of Music in Warsaw under Barbara Hesse-Bukowska. Roberto Alagna (; born 7 June 1963) is a French operatic tenor. He obtained French citizenship in 1981, while also retaining his previous Italian citizenship.
