''Errementari'', also known as ''The Blacksmith and the Devil'', is a 2017 internationally co-produced Basque-language period fantasy horror film directed by and written by Alijo and Asier Guerricaechebarría. The plot is based on the Basque folktale version of The Smith and the Devil, as collected by Father Joxemiel Barandiaran. The film sets the legend in 1843, with a blacksmith holding a demon in captivity, and an orphan girl who releases the demon from its cage. Plot In 1835 in Araba, during the First Carlist War, rebels are captured by government soldiers and executed. One rebel, Francisco Patxi, survives with the aid of a demon and slays the soldiers. Eight years later, government investigator Alfredo Ortiz arrives in Araba. He searches for Patxi, who now lives in a ruined forge in the woods. The Goya Award for Best Special Effects (Spanish: ''Premio Goya a los mejores efectos especiales'') is one of the Goya Awards, Spain's principal national film awards. Biography Eneko Sagardoy Mujika was born in Durango, Biscay, on 17 January 1994. The 33rd Goya Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AACCE), honored the best in Spanish films of 2018 and took place at the Conference and Exhibition Centre of Seville on 2 February 2019. Itziar Ituño Martínez (born June 18, 1974) is a Spanish actress, who performs in her native Basque language as well as in Spanish. She is best known for her role as Inspector Raquel Murillo in the Spanish television series ''La Casa de Papel'' (''Money Heist''). Early life Ituño was born in Basauri, on June 18, 1974. She studied acting at the Basauri Theater School and also graduated in urban-industrial and political sociology from the University of the Basque Country. The Smith And The Devil
__NOTOC__ The Smith and the Devil is an Indo-European fairy tale. The story is of a smith who makes a pact with a malevolent being—commonly the Devil (in later times), Death, a demon or a genie—selling his soul for some power, then tricks the devil out of his prize. In one version, the smith gains the power to weld any material, he then uses this power to stick the devil to an immovable object, allowing the smith to renege on the bargain. It is indexed as ATU330.
