Eolith (company)
''Eolith Co., Ltd.'' ( ko, 이오리스) was a South Korean based video game company. They developed ''The King of Fighters 2001'' and '' The King of Fighters 2002'' after SNK was bankrupted. Their last title released was ''Chaos Breaker'', for the arcade system Taito Type X. Although Eolith was founded as an independent company in 1996, Kum Gang published their early arcade games. In 2000, they started a small chain of arcades called G-Park. On June 7, 2000, they registered at KOSDAQ as the first Korean arcade game maker. Besides video games, their redemption games ''El Dorado'' won the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Game of the Month June 2001 award, and ''Mugunghwa Kkot-i Pieosseumnida'' (English: ''The roses of Sharon have blossomed'', known as ''Hide and Seek'' outside of Korea) won the Game of the Month November 2001 and Arcade Game of the Year 2001 awards. Taito
is a Japanese company that specializes in video games, toys, arcade cabinets and game centers, based in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The company was founded by Michael Kogan in 1953 as the importing vodka, vending machines and jukeboxes into Japan. It began production of video games in 1973. In 2005, Taito was purchased by Square Enix, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary by 2006. ''Worms'' is a 2D artillery tactical video game developed by Team17 and released in 1995. It is the first game in the ''Worms'' series of video games. is a fighting video game in Capcom's ''Street Fighter'' series, originally released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1997. The game's name as it appears on the cabinet is ''Three: A New Generation of Street Fighters''. ''Ring King'', known as in Japan and Europe, is an arcade boxing game. It was published in 1985 by Woodplace in Japan and Europe, and by Data East in North America. Rally-X
is a maze chase arcade video game developed Namco and released in 1980. Players drive a blue Formula One race car through a multidirectional scrolling maze to collect yellow flags. Boulders block some paths and must be avoided. Red enemy cars pursue the player in an attempt to collide with them. Red cars can be temporarily stunned by laying down smoke screens at the cost of fuel. ''Rally-X'' is one of the first games with bonus stages and continuously-playing background music. ''Rally-X'' was designed as a successor to Sega's '' Head On'' (1979), an earlier maze chase game with cars. Puzznic
is a tile-matching puzzle video game developed and released by Taito for arcades in 1989. It was ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, PC Engine, Sharp X68000, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, MS-DOS, and ZX Spectrum between 1990 and 1991. Home computer ports were handled by Ocean Software; the 2003 PlayStation port was handled by Altron. The arcade and FM Towns versions had adult content, showing a naked woman at the end of the level; this was removed in the international arcade release (but not the US one) and other home ports. Puzzle Bobble
internationally known as ''Bust-a-Move'', is a 1994 tile-matching puzzle arcade game developed and published by Taito. It is based on the 1986 arcade game ''Bubble Bobble'', featuring characters and themes from that game. Its characteristically cute Japanese animation and music, along with its play mechanics and level designs, made it successful as an arcade title and spawned several sequels and ports to home gaming systems. Pac-Man
originally called ''Puck Man'' in Japan, is a 1980 maze action video game developed and released by Namco for arcades. In North America, the game was released by Midway Manufacturing as part of its licensing agreement with Namco America. The player controls Pac-Man, who must eat all the dots inside an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts. Eating large flashing dots called "Power Pellets" causes the ghosts to temporarily turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for bonus points. New Rally-X
is a maze chase arcade video game released by Namco in 1981. It is a lightly tweaked version of 1980's ''Rally-X'', with slightly enhanced graphics, easier gameplay, a new soundtrack, and a "Lucky Flag" that gives the player extra points for remaining fuel when collected. ''New Rally-X'' was manufactured in greater numbers and was much more popular in Japan than its predecessor. While the original ''Rally-X'', released under a Midway Games license, was a moderate hit in the United States, Midway only distributed ''New Rally-X'' as an upgrade kit for ''Rally-X'' cabinets. Moon Patrol
is a 1982 arcade video game developed and released by Irem. It was licensed to Williams for distribution in North America. The player controls a moon buggy which can jump over and shoot obstacles on a horizontally scrolling landscape as well as shoot aerial attackers. Designed by Takashi Nishiyama, ''Moon Patrol'' is often credited with the introduction of full parallax scrolling in side-scrolling games. Galaga
is a 1981 fixed shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco. In North America, it was released by Midway Manufacturing. It is the sequel to ''Galaxian'' (1979), Namco's first major video game hit in arcades. Controlling a starship, the player is tasked with destroying the Galaga forces in each stage while avoiding enemies and projectiles. Some enemies can capture a player's ship via a tractor beam, which can be rescued to transform the player into a "dual fighter" with additional firepower.
