Enzo Pastor
Ferdinand "Enzo" Pastor (January 24, 1982 – June 12, 2014) was a Filipino racing driver. Pastor made his racing debut at the 1999 Toyota Corolla Cup with a Toyota Corolla as his first vehicle. Pastor was the first Filipino to have participated in the NASCAR Whelen Euroseries Open Championship race circuit. Pastor landed on sixth place overall for his first Euroseries Open Championship in 2013 and made one of the fastest laps in the series. Pastor was invited to participate in the K&N Pro Series East. On June 12, 2014, Pastor died from gunshot wounds after motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed the truck he rode on in Quezon City, which left his assistant, Paolo Salazar, injured. Pastor was travelling to Clark, Pampanga, in preparation for the final leg of the 2014 Asian V8 Championship Series season. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (formerly known as Racecar Euro Series and Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series) is an official NASCAR stock-car racing series based in Europe. It is one of NASCAR's three international-sanctioned series, alongside the NASCAR Pinty's Series and the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, and the only one based outside North America. Dijon-Prenois is a motor racing circuit located in Prenois, near Dijon, France. The undulating track is noted for its fast, sweeping bends. Opened in 1972, Dijon-Prenois hosted the Formula One French Grand Prix five times, and the Swiss Grand Prix in 1982. The non-championship 1975 Swiss Grand Prix was also held at Dijon. TFT Racing is a French racing team. The team was very successful in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series winning three drivers titles in four years. The team is a long time competitor in the V de V Proto Endurance Challenge. History The team was founded on 26 April 2005 by Tony Pereira, Flavio Prodolliet and Thierry Fornerod. The 2013 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series was the fifth season and 1st with the new series denomination of stock car racing in Europe. The season started on 31 March at Nogaro, and ended on 13 October at Le Mans after twelve races at six meetings. Ander Vilariño is the defending driver's champion. The Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, also known as Circuit de la Sarthe (after the 1906 French Grand Prix triangle circuit) located in Le Mans, Sarthe, France, is a semi-permanent motorsport race course, chiefly known as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (), frequently referred to as ''Spa'', is a motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. Circuit Paul Armagnac also known as Circuit de Nogaro is a motorsport race track located in the commune of Nogaro in the Gers department in southwestern France. The track is named in honor of Nogaro-born racing driver Paul Armagnac who died in an accident during practice for the 1962 1000 km de Paris at the Montlhéry circuit. History Motorsports racing events in Nogaro were first organized when racing driver Paul Armagnac and Robert Castagnon created the Association Sportive Automobile de l'Armagnac.
