Ellen Neumann
Ellen Fiedler ( Neumann, born 26 November 1958 in Demmin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) is a former East German 400 metres hurdler. She won the bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, in a career best time of 53.63 seconds. This ranks her third among German 400 m hurdlers, only behind Sabine Busch and Cornelia Ullrich. She also won the 1981 IAAF World Cup event, took the silver medal in the hurdles at the 1980 World Championships in Athletics, won the bronze medal at the 1983 World Championships and finished sixth at the 1986 European Championships. At the 1983 World Championships she also won a gold medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay. Although it was Gesine Walther, Sabine Busch, Marita Koch and Dagmar Rübsam who ran in the final, Fiedler had run in the qualifying round. At the 1986 Goodwill Games, the athletics competition was held in July 1986 at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Soviet Union. A total of 42 events were contested, of which 23 by male and 19 by female athletes. Sittard
Sittard (; ) is a city in the Netherlands, situated in the southernmost province of Limburg. The town is part of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen and has almost 37.500 inhabitants in 2016. In its east, Sittard borders the German municipality of Selfkant (in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia). The city centre is located at 45 m above sea level. The Sports Club Dynamo Berlin was an East German sports club that existed from 1954 to 1991. It was the largest sports club of SV Dynamo, the sports association of the security agencies. The club was disbanded after German reunification and eventually succeeded by sports club SC Berlin. Sporting spectrum The sports club offered the following kinds of sport in the 1980s: team handball, athletics, gymnastics, cycling, speed skating, racewalking, figure skating, ice hockey, fencing, boxing, and volleyball.
