Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") ( sv, Elitserien i bandy) is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. Swedish Bandy Association
The Swedish Bandy Association ( sv, Svenska Bandyförbundet) is the governing body of bandy in Sweden. It organizes the bandy leagues, Elitserien and Allsvenskan for men and Damallsvenskan for women, and the men's and women's national teams. It was established in Stockholm on 5 April 1925, and is based in Stockholm, after moving from Katrineholm. It is a founding member of FIB, Federation of International Bandy. Bandy was introduced 1895 in Sweden by all round athlete Clarence von Rosen. He picked the game up during a visit in bandy's home country Great Britain. He started the first bandy club in Sweden, Stockholm Hockeyklubb. First in 1905 bandy was organized within Swedish Ballgame Association and a year later within Swedish Football Association. Frillesås BK
Frillesås BK, ''FBK'', is a bandy club in Sweden. It is based in Frillesås in Kungsbacka Municipality but plays its homegames on Sjöaremossen bandy field in Varberg Municipality. The club was founded in 1960. The club colours are green, yellow and black. The club has played in Allsvenskan for many years but has been relegated to Division 1 for the 2010–11 season, from which they managed to get promoted again already for the upcoming season, were then relegated again for the 2014–15 season. Sävstaås IP is a sports ground in Bollnäs, Sweden, used for bandy, soccer and track and field athletics. Bollnäs () is a Swedish locality and the seat of Bollnäs Municipality, in Gävleborg County, Sweden. Hammarby IF Bandyförening is a Swedish bandy club from Södermalm, Stockholm, a section of the sports club Hammarby IF. Hammarby IF was founded under its present name in 1897 and has been playing bandy since 1905. The club currently play in Elitserien, which is the highest division in Sweden, and has won it twice. AIK Bandy is the Bandy section of sports club Allmänna Idrottsklubben, currently located in Solna, which is just north of Stockholm. Former UEFA President and FIFA Vice President Lennart Johansson started as a leader here. Men's team The men's team was started in 1905. In the first year of bandy league system in Sweden, 1930–31, AIK entered in Division 1 Norra together with Hammarby IF, IF Vesta, IFK Rättvik, IK Sirius, Skutskärs IF, SK Tirfing, and Västerås SK and finished 1st. IFK Vänersborg is a Swedish sports club in Vänersborg, Sweden, most famous for its success in bandy. History The club was formed on 9 March 1903. The first years saw the club also compete in sports such as gymnastics and athletics. In bandy, the club played in Allsvenskan for the first time during the 1975–76 season. Villa Lidköping BK is a bandy club in Lidköping i Sweden. The club was formed on January 18, 1934 as Villa BK on Lockörn outside Lidköping, where the old club cottage still is.
