Elias Hossain
Elias Hossain is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He played for the Bangladesh national team from 1983 to 1989. He also captained the national team during the 1989 South Asian Games. Elias is also the only player from Gopalganj to play for the Bangladesh national team. He is currently working as an executive director for the Bangladesh Football Federation. Club career In 1977, the Jubilee Rangers took on Friends Club, which was the Gopalganj First Division title deciding match. Elias Hossain played as a substitute for Jubilee Rangers in that match. Many star footballers of Dhaka including Kazi Salahuddin and Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu came to Gopalganj to play the match as, Jubilee Rangers lost 2–1 to Friends Club that day. Bangabandhu National Stadium ( bn, বঙ্গবন্ধু জাতীয় স্টেডিয়াম, ''romanised: Bongobondhu jateeyo stediyaam''), also known as Dhaka Stadium, and formerly known as Dacca Stadium, is the national stadium and a multipurpose sports arena in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Rezaul Karim Rehan
Rezaul Karim Rehan ( bn, রেজাউল করিম রেহান; born 6 September 1968) is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played as a defender for the Bangladesh national team from 1987 to 1993. Club career Rehan was trained in the AMCA Academy in Golapganj Upazila of Sylhet. He eventually played in the Sylhet First Division Football League with Agragami Club. He impressed coach Shamsuzzoha Chad during an under-19 camp held in Sylhet. Following his performances with Faridpur District in the National Football Championship, coach Chad helped him secure a place in the Dhaka Football League club Muktijoddha Sangsad KC. Nurul Haque Manik
Nurul Haque Manik (died 14 June 2020) was a Bangladeshi footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He was a prominent figure in the Bangladesh national football team for ten years and spent most of his club career playing for Dhaka League giants Mohammedan Sporting Club and Brothers Union. Early life Mohammad Nurul Haque Manik was born in Matlab Uttar Upazila , Chandpur, Bangladesh and spent his childhood there. His father's name was AKM Mozammel Haque, who was an accountant in the Public Works Department. Manik moved to Dhaka with his family for his father's job. Merdeka Tournament or Pestabola Merdeka is a friendly football tournament held in Malaysia to commemorate the Independence Day. The competition bears the Malay word for independence. As of 2022, it has been held 40 times, and decreasingly in recent decades. Matches in Merdeka tournament considered International "A" matches (Friendly match) by FIFA. Dhaka League
Dhaka Senior Division Football League, also referred as First Division Football League, is the third tier of football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as Dhaka League, while Bangladesh was still under Pakistani control. Upon the creation of the new national top-tier professional league B.
