Bangladesh Football Federation (, ''Bānlādēśa phuṭabala phēḍārēśana'') is the governing body that administrates the sport of association football in Bangladesh. It is in charge of running the country's men's and women's national teams, as well as the Bangladesh Premier League and various other competitions and tournaments. The BFF was one of founding members of the South Asian Football Federation. It is based at BFF Bhaban, in the Motijheel Thana of the country's capital, Dhaka. History The Bangladesh Football Federation was founded on 15 July 1972 by Md. Yousuf Ali, the country's former Minister for Education, Culture and Sport; the general secretary under Ali was Abul Hashem of Wari Club. It became affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in 1973, and FIFA in 1976. It is also a founding member of South Asian Football Federation. Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) is the second-tier football league of Bangladesh run by the Bangladesh Football Federation. It was founded in 2012. The league is also known as TVS Championship League for sponsorship agreements from 2018–19. Golam Robbani Choton ( bn, গোলাম রব্বানী ছোটন) (born 2 July 1968) is a Bangladeshi football coach and former player, who is the current head coach of Bangladesh women's under-14, Bangladesh women's under-17, Bangladesh women's under-20 and Bangladesh women's national football team. He is considered as the pioneer of Bangladesh women's football. Golam Robbani had played for Fakirerpool Young Men's Club and Arambagh KS for most of his playing career as a defender. Javier Fernández Cabrera Martín Peñato (born 4 October 1984) is a Spanish professional football coach. He currently manages the Bangladesh national football team. Cabrera is an UEFA Pro License Coach with wide experience in both professional and grassroots football projects. Cabrera also has a reputation as a football analyst. Paul Thomas Smalley (born 17 November 1966) is a former English footballer and coach. In July 2020 he was reappointed as the technical director of the Bangladesh Football Federation. Club career Born in Nottingham, Smalley began his career in the academy of hometown club Notts County. Over the course of four years, Smalley made 118 Football League appearances for the club, before leaving to sign for Scunthorpe United in 1988, scoring one goal in 86 league games. In 1990, Smalley signed for Leeds United, however failed to make an appearance for the club, signing for Doncaster Rovers in 1991, making 14 league appearances. Mohammad Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan (Manik) is a Bangladeshi businessman, sports organizer, and politician. He is the chairman of Toma Group, a major Bangladeshi conglomerate. He is the Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation, the associate of FIFA in Bangladesh. Career Bhuiyan established Toma Group in 1996 with the start of Toma Construction & Co. Limited. Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country.
