Elgeseterlinjen
The Elgeseter Line ( no, Elgeseterlinjen) was a tramway line in Trondheim Tramway between Trondheim Torg and Elgeseter. The tram line was built in 1913, expanded in 1923 and abandoned in 1983. It was used by Line 2 operated by Trondheim Sporvei, later Trondheim Trafikkselskap, though part of the line was used by Singsaker Line. History Trondheim got its first tram in 1893, and by 1913 an expansion was constructed between the city center and Magnus den Godes Street. At the same time a branch line was built to Trondheim Central Station from Olav Tryggvason's Street. The new line went from the station via the city to Elgeseter. In 1923 the line was expanded to Dalsenget and a depot was constructed there. When the new Lade Line to Lade was built in 1958 Line 2 was moved from the railway station to Lade and in 1974 the operation of the tramway was taken over by the newly created Trondheim Trafikkselskap. Dalsenget (station)
Dalsenget was a tram stop and terminus on the Elgeseter Line of the Trondheim Tramway between 1923 and 1983 and the site of a tram depot during this period. History In 1923 a new tram line was built to Elgeseter and a new depot was built at the terminus. Trondheim Sporvei
Trondheim Sporvei was a municipally owned tram operator in Trondheim, Norway that existed between 1936 and 1974. The company operated the municipal parts of the Trondheim Tramway until it was merged with A/S Graakalbanen and Trondheim Bilruter to create Trondheim Trafikkselskap. That company has become part of Nettbuss, the largest Norwegian bus company in Norway which is owned by Norwegian State Railways (''Norges Statsbaner AS''). Elgeseter
Elgeseter is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the western part of the borough of Lerkendal. It is south and east of the river Nidelva, south of the neighborhoods of Midtbyen and Øya, west of Singsaker and north of Nardo. The name comes from ''Helgeseter'', the name of Helgeseter Priory, an Augustinian abbey located at Elgeseter during the Middle Ages. Elgeseter is the centre of technology in Trondheim, housing both St. Olavs Hospital, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and parts of Sør-Trøndelag University College. In area is zoned for labour-intensive jobs, resulting in a number of technology companies being at Elgeseter. In addition there is some housing in the area. Munkegata Terminal
Munkegata Terminal was the main bus station in Trondheim, Norway until August 2019. The main bus terminal is now located in Prinsenkrysset. All buses to and from Trondheim, with the sole exception of the Airport Express Bus and TrønderBilene stopped at the terminal, that is located on the streets of Munkegata and Dronningens gate on Trondheim Torg in Midtbyen. The terminal also housed the corporate offices of Team Trafikk, the city bus company in Trondheim until June 2018. The terminal was divided into four sections each direction on Munkegata and two sections each direction on Dronningens gate. Each bus route stopped at a consequent stop in each direction, making it possible to manage a terminal that is two blocks long. Trondheim Central Station
Trondheim Central Station ( no, Trondheim sentralstasjon) or Trondheim S is the main railway station serving the city of Trondheim, Norway. Located at Brattøra in the north part of the city centre, it is the terminus of the Dovre Line, running southwards, and the Nordland Line, which runs north. The railway is electrified south of the station but not north of it, so through trains must change locomotives at the station. Nils Carl Aspenberg (born 26 August 1958) is a Norwegian journalist, historian, author and businessperson. He has written numerous books on rail transport, and is chief executive officer of Baneforlaget. Aspenberg has a ''siviløkonom'' degree from BI Norwegian Business School. Lademoen is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is situated the borough of Østbyen, about east of Midtbyen, the city centre of Trondheim. Lade (Old Norse: ''Hlaðir'') is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. Lade Line
The Lade Line ( no, Ladelinjen) was a tramway between Munkegata and Lade in Trondheim, Norway. The first part of the line was opened in 1901, but not expanded to Lade until 1958. The line was operated by Trondheim Sporvei and Trondheim Trafikkselskap until it was abandoned in 1988. Singsaker Line
The Singsaker Line ( no, Singsakerlinjen) was a branch of the Trondheim Tramway which ran from Øya and Elgeseter to the neighborhoods of Singsaker, parts of Tyholt and Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway. The line branched off from the Elgeseter Line at the Student Society. It was double track until Tyholtveien, after which it ran through a loop through Rosenborg. It was served by Line 3, which continued through the city center to Trondheim Central Station. The line opened in 1927 to Ankers gate and was the first of the network not to feature conductors.
