Eagulls
Eagulls were an English Rock music, rock band, formed in Leeds in 2009. The band consisted of Mark Goldsworthy (guitar), Henry Ruddel (drums), Liam Matthews (guitar), Tom Kelly (bass), and George Mitchell (vocals). History Eagulls were formed in 2009 and released their first single 'Council house, Council Flat Blues' on Moshi Moshi Records, Moshi Moshi imprint Not Even Records. The band's 2012 self-titled EP, recorded by MJ of Hookworms (band), Hookworms, was released on both London's Sexbeat label and Canada, Canadian label Deranged Records. In 2013 the band signed to Partisan Records, releasing 7" single "Nerve Endings" with a cover of Killing Joke's 'Requiem (Killing Joke song), Requiem', and 7" single 'Tough Luck' (with 'Opaque' on the 7" as well). Their self-titled debut album has been released in March 2014. Partisan Records
Partisan Records is an independent record label with offices in London and Los Angeles, as well as in New York City, where the company was co-founded in 2007 by Tim Putnam and Ian Wheeler. The label, initially run out of Putnam’s South Brooklyn apartment, relocated in 2009 to their flagship office in Williamsburg where they still reside. Holy Sons (‘Decline Of The West’) was the first release on the label, and early success followed shortly thereafter with the release of Deer Tick (‘War Elephant’). In 2008, while working as the Night Manager for The Knitting Factory venue at their Leonard St. location in Manhattan, Putnam was approached by Knitting Factory Entertainment CEO Morgan Margolis to form a strategic partnership with Partisan. Requiem (Killing Joke Song)
"Requiem" is a song by the English post-punk band Killing Joke. It was released in September 1980 by E.G. Records as the second single from their first studio album, ''Killing Joke''. Release "Requiem" was released on 26 September 1980 on 7" vinyl by E.G. Records and Malicious Damage as the second single from the band's first album, backed by the B-side "Change". A 12" version of the single was also released, with "Change" and a demo of "Requiem" as the B-sides. The single did not chart in the UK, but it reached number 43 on the US ''Billboard'' Dance Club Songs chart. Cover versions The song was covered in 1997 by the American rock band Foo Fighters as one of the B-sides to their song "Everlong", and was included in the 2007 re-release of their album ''The Colour and the Shape''. Steve Lamacq
Stephen Paul Lamacq (born 16 October 1964), sometimes known by his nickname Lammo (given to him by John Peel), is an English disc jockey, currently working with the BBC radio station BBC Radio 6 Music. Early life He attended The Ramsey Academy from 1976, which had been formed the previous year from two grammar schools. He was brought up in the Essex village of Colne Engaine. Early career He cites Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's "wonderful" 1979 single "Electricity" as his inspiration to become a disc jockey, noting that he wanted to afford air time to similar, "curious" music. Pulled Apart By Horses
Pulled Apart by Horses are an English alternative rock band from Leeds. They formed in early 2008. The band were signed by Transgressive Records in 2009, and released their debut self-titled album ''Pulled Apart by Horses'' on 21 June 2010. In August 2011, they went into Monnow Valley Studio in Wales to record with record producer Gil Norton, and their second album ''Tough Love'' was released to critical acclaim on 20 January 2012. After ''Tough Love'', the band sold out their first European tour, and went on to support Biffy Clyro and Foals. In 2010 they supported Muse at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. In September 2014 the band's third album ''Blood'' became their first top 40, entering the UK Albums Chart at number 38. Hot Snakes
Hot Snakes are an American post-hardcore band led by Rick Froberg and John Reis, formed in 1999 in San Diego, California. Reis and Froberg had previously performed together in Pitchfork (band), Pitchfork and Drive Like Jehu, after which Reis had found international success with Rocket from the Crypt. Hot Snakes disbanded in 2005 but reunited in 2011. Although they share musical similarities with members' previous outfits, Hot Snakes have a sound that is much more primal than that of Pitchfork, Drive Like Jehu or even Rocket from the Crypt. Reis and Froberg were also heavily influenced by bands such as The Wipers, Suicide (band), Suicide, and Michael Yonkers Band, and these influences gave Hot Snakes a distinctive sound that has been described by one critic as "hardcore garage punk." Iceage is a Danish punk rock band from Copenhagen. The band was formed in 2008 and has released the albums ''New Brigade'' (2011), ''You're Nothing'' (2013), ''Plowing Into the Field of Love'' (2014), ''Beyondless'' (2018), and ''Seek Shelter'' (2021). History Iceage were formed in 2008, when the members of the band averaged 17 years old. Ceremony is an American punk rock band from Rohnert Park, California. The band's current line-up features Ross Farrar (vocals), Anthony Anzaldo (guitar), Jasmine Watson (bass), Andy Nelson (guitar), and Jake Casarotti (drums). Flipper is an American punk rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1979, continuing in often erratic fashion until the mid-1990s, then reuniting in 2005. The band influenced a number of grunge, punk rock and noise rock bands. Their slowed-down, bass-driven and heavily distorted style of punk is considered to have inspired bands such as the Melvins and Nirvana, whose bass player Krist Novoselic played with the band in the 2000s.
