Danny Inglis
Daniel "Danny" Inglis is a Scottish former professional darts player who played in the British Darts Organisation in the 1970s and 1980s. Career Inglis played his debut in the 1984 BDO World Darts Championship, losing 2–1 to Kexi Heinäharju of Finland in the first round. He had earlier reached the quarter-final of the 1983 British Professional, beating World Championship Semi Finals Tony Brown and former Gold Cup Champions Tony Skuse before losing to 3 Times World Champion John Lowe. Leslie, Fife
Leslie (Scottish Gaelic: Fiodh Chill) is a large village and parish on the northern tip of the River Leven Valley, to the west of Glenrothes in Fife. According to the population estimates (2006), the village has a population of 3,092. The village was granted burgh of barony status by James II in 1458 for George Leslie who became the first Earl of Rothes. Tony Brown (darts Player)
Anthony Brown (1 April 1945 – 22 September 2022) was a former English professional darts player. He came close to winning the world championship on a number of occasions, reaching the World Professional Darts Championships semi-finals four times, losing twice to Eric Bristow and twice to John Lowe. Career Brown appeared in the first-ever World Championship in 1978 as the number 8 seed, but surprisingly lost to Australian namesake Tim Brown. Brown then went on to reach the semi-finals of the World Championship for three successive years - 1979, 1980 and 1981. After a surprise second-round defeat in the 1982 Championships, Brown reached the semi-final again in 1983, losing to Bristow. He also enjoyed success in other major tournaments, winning the televised British Open in 1979 and Yorkshire Television's Indoor League darts competition in 1977. Kexi Heinaharju
Kexi is a visual database applications creator tool by KDE, designed to fill the gap between spreadsheets and database solutions requiring more sophisticated development. Kexi can be used for designing and implementing databases, data inserting and processing, and performing queries. It is developed within the Calligra project but is released separately. The impetus for developing Kexi came from a noticeable lack of applications having the features of LibreOffice Base, Microsoft Access, FoxPro, Oracle Forms or FileMaker while at the same time being powerful, inexpensive, open-standards-driven and sufficiently portable. Kexi works natively under Linux/Unix (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, Solaris) and Microsoft Windows operating systems. John Lowe (darts Player)
John Lowe (born 21 July 1945) is an English former professional darts player. Along with Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson, he was known for dominating darts during the 1980s. Lowe was world champion on three occasions, in 1979, 1987 and 1993. He was also a two-time winner of the Winmau World Masters and a two-time World Cup singles champion. In total, Lowe won 15 BDO and WDF majors. He held the World No. 1 ranking on four occasions. In October 1984, he became the first player to hit a televised nine-dart finish. Lowe is one of only six players to have won the World Championship three or more times, and was the first person to win it in three separate decades; along with Phil Taylor, he remains one of only two players to achieve this. Keijo "Kexi" Heinäharju (born 2 February 1955) is a Finnish former professional darts player. Darts career Heinäharju won the 1981 Finland Open, beating fellow Finn Risto Nurmela in the final. He first qualified for the BDO World Darts Championship in 1984, defeating Danny Inglis in the first round before losing to Ceri Morgan in round two. 1984 BDO World Darts Championship
The 1984 Embassy World Darts Championship was held from 31 December 1983 to 7 January 1984 at Jollees Cabaret Club in Stoke-on-Trent. Eric Bristow made up for his defeat against Keith Deller in the previous year's final by winning his third world title having dropped just one set in the entire tournament. He beat Finn Jensen, Rick Ney, Peter Locke and John Lowe before defeating Dave Whitcombe in the final by 7 sets to 1. Deller suffered a shock first-round defeat to 1978 semi-finalist Nicky Virachkul, who eventually lost to Whitcombe in the quarter-finals.
