Dorothy Carpenter
Dorothy F. Carpenter (; March 13, 1933 – April 2, 2011) was an American politician. She was a Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 1980 to 1994. Early life Carpenter was born on March 13, 1933, in Ismay, Montana. Her parents were Daniel A. Fulton and Mary Ann Fulton (née George). She grew up on a ranch assisting her father. She attended Custer County High School in Miles City, Montana, where she graduated in 1951. She received a bachelor's of arts degree in history from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, in 1955. While at the college, she met Thomas Ward Carpenter who she married the same year. The couple moved to Houston, Texas, where Carpenter taught elementary school from 1955 to 1957 while her husband was in the military. Reuters ( ) is a news agency owned by Thomson Reuters Corporation. It employs around 2,500 journalists and 600 photojournalists in about 200 locations worldwide.
