Devourment
Devourment is an American death metal band from Dallas, Texas. Formed in 1995, the band has split up and reformed three times leaving Brad Fincher as the only original member. The current lineup is Ruben Rosas, Chris Andrews, Dave Spencer and Brad Fincher. The band is currently signed to Relapse Records, and was previously signed to Brutal Bands, United Guttural and Corpse Gristle Records. Devourment has also had albums re-released by other labels. Since the band's foundation, Devourment released a demo, ''Impaled'', and an album, ''Molesting the Decapitated'', before disbanding due to the jailing of vocalist Ruben Rosas. There was a brief reformation of the band during his incarceration, which saw the initial release of the compilation album ''1.3.8.'', and a brief reformation upon his release in 2002. Conceived In Sewage
''Conceived in Sewage'' is the fourth studio album by American death metal band Devourment. It was released by Relapse Records on February 19, 2013. A music video was released for "Parasitic Eruption". Musical style The album features a sound that differs from the band's notorious style of focusing on an abundance of slams. The slam riffs are notably kept to a minimum while a sound more reminiscent of traditional death metal is performed on the album. This new sound gathered a mixed reception from fans and reviewers. Reception ''Conceived in Sewage'' received mixed to positive reviews. Denise Falzon of Exclaim! described the album as "33 minutes of slamming, brutal death metal mixed with grind elements", and called it "fast and punishing throughout". Dying Fetus is an American death metal band originally from Greater Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Formed in 1991, the group is known for their consistently hook-laden song structures, characterized by blast beats, complex riffing, slam riffs and heavy breakdowns. Erik Rutan
Erik Rutan (born June 10, 1971) is an American heavy metal musician and producer from New Jersey. He is the guitarist and lead vocalist of death metal band Hate Eternal and lead guitarist for Cannibal Corpse, who he fully joined in 2021 after acting as a fill-in guitarist during their 2019 tour. Rutan has also spent time with Morbid Angel (three different stints) and Ripping Corpse. When not performing, Rutan operates his own recording studio in Florida called Mana Recording Studios. Recording Rutan started his metal career with Ripping Corpse, recording one album titled '' Dreaming with the Dead'' released in 1991. Relapse Records is an American independent record label based in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Matthew F. Jacobson in 1990. Exhumed is an American death metal band from San Jose, California that is currently signed to Relapse Records and centered around guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey. The band has released eight albums and eight split 7-inch singles. They were formed in 1990, went on hiatus in 2005, and reformed in 2010. Background Early history (1990–2000) Exhumed formed in 1990, when founding member Matt Harvey was 15 years old. Exhumed spent much of the ensuing decade releasing numerous demos, split CDs, and EPs.
