Denise Frigo
Miss Earth 2016, the 16th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, with the theme "Empowered to make a Change", was held on October 29, 2016, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. 83 contestants from all over the world competed for the title. Angelia Ong of the Philippines crowned her successor Katherine Espín of Ecuador at the end of the event becoming the second Ecuadorian woman to win the title of Miss Earth and the first since Olga Álava in 2011. This year's edition also features the newly polished and modified crown created by Florida-based jeweler, ''Ramona Haar''. The crown's original design from the 2009 edition of the pageant to enhance the crown's general appearance and to have an intimate fit to the head of the winner. Marc Saw Nelson, better known as Marc Nelson, is a Burmese and Australian television host and model mostly credited for being one of Philippine television's most visible and prominent personalities. Personal life Nelson was born in Sydney, Australia. His mother has Anglo-Burmese blood, born in Scotland and raised in Burma and Thailand, while his father is of Burmese Chinese origin but migrated to Australia. He graduated with a Science Degree in human geography, a course similar to social anthropology. Since the age of 7, Nelson and his family have been traveling and living in all of the flung corners of the globe. He has managed to visit over 40 countries and lived in seven of them.
