The Democratic Conviction ( sq, Partia Bindja Demokratike, BD) is a political party in Albania that was registered on April 23, 2019, belongs to the center-right political spectrum. Astrit Patozi
Astrit Patozi (born 22 July 1964 in Kavajë) is an Albanian politician and former member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania. As one of the closest associates of former prime minister Sali Berisha, he served as deputy leader of the Democratic Party and also as head of its parliamentary group. On 23 April 2019, he became the coordinator of the newly born political party on the center-right of the Albanian political scene, Democratic Conviction. Tirana
Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Blue
Blue is one of the three primary colours in the RYB colour model (traditional colour theory), as well as in the RGB (additive) colour model. It lies between violet and cyan on the spectrum of visible light. The eye perceives blue when observing light with a dominant wavelength between approximately 450 and 495 nanometres. 2019 Albanian Protests
The 2019 Albanian protests was massive demonstrations and violent protests led by the opposition, who staged massive rallies in Albania between February-June, calling for the cancellation of the 2019 Albanian local elections, fresh elections, resignation of prime minister Edi Rama and his entire cabinet and the installation of a new technocrat government. 2021 Albanian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Albania on 25 April 2021. It took place during the COVID-19 epidemic. Background In the previous parliamentary elections in 2017, the Socialist Party won a majority with 74 of the 140 seats. In second place was the Democratic Party with 43 seats. Electoral system The 140 members of Parliament were elected in twelve multi-member constituencies based on the twelve counties by open list using proportional representation (using a 1% national electoral threshold) with seats allocated using the d'Hondt method.
