Data De Groove
''Data de Groove'' is the sixth album by Austrian singer Falco, released in May 1990 – a collaboration with producer Robert Ponger. It was dedicated to the upcoming computer era and peaked at number 11 in Austria. It is known to be his most complex and intellectual album. So far it is the only album out of print and therefore quite a rarity, especially on CD format. However, in February 2016 the album became available for download in digital form on iTunes, as well as a stream on Spotify. In 2022, the album resurfaced when a Deluxe Edition was released, with all songs remastered and featured remixes and edits of several tracks. Two singles were released: "Data de Groove" and "Charisma Kommando". Falco (musician)
Johann "Hans" Hölzel (; 19 February 1957 – 6 February 1998), better known by his stage name Falco, was an Austrian singer and musician. Falco had several international hits including " Der Kommissar" (1981), "Rock Me Amadeus", "Vienna Calling", " Jeanny", " The Sound of Musik", " Coming Home (Jeanny Part II, One Year Later)", and posthumously " Out of the Dark". "Rock Me Amadeus" reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' charts in 1986, making him the only artist in history whose principal language was German, to score a ''vocal'' number-one hit in the United States. According to his estate, he has sold 20 million albums and 40 million singles, which makes him the best-selling Austrian singer of all time. Synth-pop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Teldec (Telefunken-Decca Schallplatten GmbH) is a German record label in Hamburg, Germany. Today the label is a property of Warner Music Group. History Teldec was a producer of (first) shellac and (later) vinyl records. The Teldec manufacturing facility was located in Nortorf near Kiel in Germany. The company was founded in 1950 as a co-operation between Telefunken and Decca Records. The name Teldec is the result of taking the first three letters of both labels: Telefunken and Decca. Records manufactured by Teldec mostly were released under the Telefunken or Decca label, but normally these records contained no hint that they were made by Teldec. In 1983, Telefunken and Decca pulled out of Teldec and in 1987 Teldec was sold to Time Warner. In 1997, the remaining compact-disc production facility in Nortorf was to be closed by Time Warner, but after a management buyout, the new company OK Media, continued CD production. Robert Ponger
Robert Ponger (born 1950, Vienna) is an Austrian songwriter and record producer, most famous for his work with Austrian singer Falco. Ponger produced and shared writing credits on Falco's first two solo albums, 1982's ''Einzelhaft'' and 1984's '' Junge Roemer''. He co-wrote the song " Der Kommissar", which was a hit for both Falco in its original German and later for the British rock band After the Fire, whose English translation of the song became a top-ten ''Billboard'' hit in 1983. Following his early work with Falco, Ponger co-wrote and produced music by Austrian singer Udo Jürgens. ''Wiener Blut'' is the 1988 fifth album by Falco. It was dedicated to Falco's daughter, Bianca, recorded in 1987 and produced by Bolland & Bolland. This album was much less successful than ''Emotional Emotions are mental states brought on by neurophysiological changes, variously associated with thoughts, feelings, behavioral responses, and a degree of pleasure or displeasure. Nachtflug
''Nachtflug'' is the seventh album by Austrian singer Falco. In Germany, ''Nachtflug'' marked the return of Falco to the album and single charts after four years of absence, during which his only charted singles were seen in his home country of Austria. The single "Titanic" almost reached the top 25 of the Slovakian "Okeychart". Falco saw success with the single "Titanic" in Austria, peaking at number 3 and staying on the charts for 18 weeks. The album itself profited from this success and Falco reached Number 1 on the Austrian album charts again, a feat which his previous two full-length albums had failed to achieve. Despite being a hit in Europe, and although "Titanic" received many prizes, it failed to chart in the United States. Another single, "Dance Mephisto", also made it to the Austrian charts but only saw minor success. The title track, also a single, failed to chart.
