Carleton–Mississippi Mills was a provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Eastern Ontario, eastern Ontario, Canada. It was created for the 2007 Ontario general election, 2007 provincial election. 78.7% of the riding came from Carleton (Ontario provincial electoral district), Lanark–Carleton while 21.3% came from Nepean--Carleton (provincial electoral district), Nepean–Carleton. The riding included the town of Mississippi Mills, Ontario, Mississippi Mills plus the former municipalities of West Carleton Township, Ontario, West Carleton, Kanata, Ontario, Kanata and Goulbourn Township, Ontario, Goulbourn. Following the 2018 election, the riding was dissolved. Most of the Ottawa portion became Kanata—Carleton (provincial electoral district), Kanata—Carleton, except for a sliver in the south that was transferred to Carleton (Ontario provincial electoral district), Carleton. 2007 Ontario General Election
The 2007 Ontario general election was held on October 10, 2007, to elect members ( MPPs) of the 39th Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, Canada. The Liberals under Premier Dalton McGuinty won the election with a majority government, winning 71 out of a possible 107 seats with 42.2% of the popular vote. The election saw the third-lowest voter turnout in Ontario provincial elections, setting a then record for the lowest voter turnout with 52.8% of people who were eligible voted. This broke the previous record of 54.7% in the 1923 election, but would end up being surpassed in the 2011 and 2022 elections. A referendum was held on October 10, 2007, on the question of whether to establish a mixed member proportional representation (MMP) system for elections to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Nepean-Carleton was a provincial electoral district in eastern Ontario, Canada. It elected one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1999 to 2014. The riding was represented in the Ontario legislature by Progressive Conservative John Baird since it became a provincial riding in 1999 until he resigned in 2005 to run in the 2006 federal election. Kanata—Carleton (provincial Electoral District)
Kanata—Carleton is a provincial electoral district in Ottawa, Ontario which was first contested in the 2018 provincial election. The riding was created federally with the 2012 redistribution process. That same process was announced by the Ontario government, meaning the provincial ridings will follow a similar boundary division for the 2018 provincial election. The new riding contains almost all of the portion of the former Carleton—Mississippi Mills located in Ottawa, except for the portion south of Highway 7/ Highway 417 that transferred Carleton. Carleton is a provincial riding in Ontario, Canada. It was created in 1867 at the time of confederation and lasted until provincial redistribution in 1996. In the 1999 provincial election it was redistributed into Nepean—Carleton and Lanark—Carleton. In 2007 it was abolished into Carleton—Mississippi Mills and Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington.
