Kanata—Carleton (provincial Electoral District)
Kanata—Carleton is a provincial electoral district in Ottawa, Ontario which was first contested in the 2018 provincial election. The riding was created federally with the 2012 redistribution process. That same process was announced by the Ontario government, meaning the provincial ridings will follow a similar boundary division for the 2018 provincial election. The new riding contains almost all of the portion of the former Carleton—Mississippi Mills located in Ottawa, except for the portion south of Highway 7/ Highway 417 that transferred Carleton. A small fraction came from Nepean—Carleton surrounding the Bridlewood neighbourhood. The 2018 Ontario general election was held on June 7, 2018, to elect the 124 members of the 42nd Parliament of Ontario. The Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, led by Doug Ford, won 76 of the 124 seats in the legislature and formed a majority government. The Ontario New Democratic Party, led by Andrea Horwath, formed the Official Opposition. Carleton—Mississippi Mills (provincial Electoral District)
Carleton–Mississippi Mills was a provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Eastern Ontario, eastern Ontario, Canada. It was created for the 2007 Ontario general election, 2007 provincial election. 78.7% of the riding came from Carleton (Ontario provincial electoral district), Lanark–Carleton while 21.3% came from Nepean--Carleton (provincial electoral district), Nepean–Carleton. Ontario Highway 7
King's Highway 7, commonly referred to as Highway 7 and historically as the Northern Highway, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. At its peak, Highway 7 measured in length, stretching from Highway 40 east of Sarnia in Southwestern Ontario to Highway 17 west of Ottawa in Eastern Ontario. However, due in part to the construction of Highways 402 and 407, the province transferred the sections of Highway 7 west of London and through the Greater Toronto Area to county and regional jurisdiction. Ontario Highway 417
King's Highway 417, commonly referred to as Highway 417 and as the Queensway through Ottawa, is a 400-series highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. It connects Ottawa with Montreal via A-40, and is the backbone of the highway system in the National Capital Region. Within Ottawa, it forms part of the Queensway west from Highway 7 to Ottawa Road 174. Highway 417 extends from the Quebec border, near Hawkesbury, to Arnprior, where it continues westward as Highway 17. Carleton is a provincial riding in Ontario, Canada. It was created in 1867 at the time of confederation and lasted until provincial redistribution in 1996. In the 1999 provincial election it was redistributed into Nepean—Carleton and Lanark—Carleton. In 2007 it was abolished into Carleton—Mississippi Mills and Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington. Nepean—Carleton (provincial Electoral District)
Nepean-Carleton was a provincial electoral district in eastern Ontario, Canada. It elected one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1999 to 2014. The riding was represented in the Ontario legislature by Progressive Conservative John Baird since it became a provincial riding in 1999 until he resigned in 2005 to run in the 2006 federal election. Bridlewood, Ottawa
Bridlewood is a neighbourhood in Kanata South Ward in the western part of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Bridlewood was part of the Township of Nepean until 1978, and then part of the City of Kanata until 2001, when that city amalgamated with the City of Ottawa. Location According to the Bridlewood Community Association, the neighbourhood is located east of Eagleson Road, south and west of the National Capital Commission Greenbelt, and north of Hope Side Road. As of the 2016 Canada Census, this area had a population of 24,400.
