The Copa Perú is a football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. It guarantees its winner promotion to the professional Liga 2. History In 1966, the First Division was named '' Descentralizado''; teams from outside the capital of Lima were allowed to participate in the professional first division. The following year, the Copa Perú began, in which all non-professional teams in Peru were allowed to compete, with the winner to gain promotion to the First Division. 1926 Peruvian Primera División
The 1926 Primera División was the 11th season of top-flight Peruvian football. A total of 11 teams competed in the league, with Sport Progreso successfully defending their national title won in 1921. This was the first season to be organized by the Peruvian Football Federation as the Liga Peruana de Football ceased operations in 1921. The Association FBC did not participate in the league because it had permission from the FPF to carry out a football tour to Central America. Many matches were not played; therefore many teams were relegated and for 1927 the Primera División was reduced to 8 clubs. 1934 Peruvian Primera División
The 1934 Peruvian Soccer Championship had nine participating teams. The champion of this tournament was Club Universitario de deportes. The season's top scorers were Teodoro Fernández Meyzán and Jorge "Campolo" Alcalde, both with 10 goals. In this way, "Lolo" Fernández managed for the first time to be the top scorer in the Peruvian First Division for three consecutive years, a record he holds together with Valeriano López. There is controversy about this championship regarding the team that should have been awarded the title. Some argue that the champion should have been Alianza Lima, while others argue that the title should have gone to Universitario de Deportes. The Peruvian Football Federation ( es, Federación Peruana de Futbol or ) is the body that governs Association football in Peru. It was founded on August 23, 1922, and affiliated in 1924. A member of CONMEBOL since 1925, it directly oversees the Peru national football team, the Copa Federación, and the amateur leagues. It is indirectly involved in the organization of the Primera División (today Torneo Descentralizado), the Peruvian Primera División Femenina and Segunda División. The Peru First Division (; ''First Division'') —known as Liga 1 Betsson for sponsorship reasons and officially as Liga 1 — is the top flight of association football in Peru. It has been referred to as Torneo Descentralizado since 1966, when the first teams residing outside the Lima and Callao provinces were invited to compete in the inaugural league national competition. Liga Nacional Superior De Voleibol
The Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol (Spanish for ''Senior National Volleyball League'') is the top level Peruvian volleyball competition and it is organized by the Peruvian Volleyball Confederation. There are both men's and women's competitions. The number of participating clubs has been 12 per division since the 2011–12 season. The team champions qualify for the men's and women's South American Volleyball Club Championship.
