Liga Nacional Superior De Voleibol
The Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol (Spanish for ''Senior National Volleyball League'') is the top level Peruvian volleyball competition and it is organized by the Peruvian Volleyball Confederation. There are both men's and women's competitions. The number of participating clubs has been 12 per division since the 2011–12 season. The team champions qualify for the men's and women's South American Volleyball Club Championship. History Although Peru had volleyball competitions prior to 2004, in that year the ''Federación Peruana de Voleibol'', Peru's Volleyball Confederation, organized the first tournament. The original format was heavily criticized due to poor organization from the sponsors and the teams. Alianza Lima
Club Alianza Lima, popularly known as Alianza Lima or simply Alianza, is a Peruvian professional sports club based in La Victoria District of Lima, Peru. It is widely known for having one of the most historical and successful football teams in Peru; they have won a total of twenty-five league titles of the Peruvian Primera División and are currently the oldest team playing in that competition, since the club was founded in 1901. Alianza's home stadium is the Estadio Alejandro Villanueva, named after Alejandro Villanueva, one of the most important players in the club's history. The stadium is also popularly known as ''Matute'', name of the neighbourhood in which it is located. Alianza enjoyed success throughout the first decades of their professional era. Volleyball Copa Latina
The Copa Latina (Latin Cup) is a tournament organized by the Peruvian Volleyball Federation and Frecuencia Latina. This tournament serves as preparation for women national teams from all over the world to different Volleyball competitions, mainly the Pan-American Volleyball Cup. The Cup features Peru's national team and three invitees, the first two Cups only had teams from the Americas but since the third cup, European and Asian teams are invited also. The format of the Cup has remained the same since the first edition, a preliminary round with a round-robin system between all four teams, the two top teams play the finals while the two bottom teams play for the bronze. The Peru men's national volleyball team is the national team of Peru. The squad won the bronze medal at the inaugural 1951 South American Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Club Sporting Cristal S.A. is a Peruvian sports club located in the city of Lima, best known for its association football, football team. It was founded on 13 December 1955 in the RÃmac District, RÃmac district by engineer Richard BentÃn Mujica and his wife Esther Grande de BentÃn, stockholders of the Peruvian brewery Backus and Johnston. The club and the brewery have been closely linked since its inception, and it is for this reason that it is popularly known as ''los Cerveceros'' ("the brewers"). Universidad César Vallejo is the women's volleyball club based in Trujillo, Peru. The team take its name from the Cesar Vallejo University. History 2012/13 season The team hired the junior female National Team Natalia Malaga and the international Peruvian players Milagros Moy and Verónica Contreras to play along with Dominicans Marianne Fersola and Sidarka Núñez. The season ended with the club winning the league championship and qualifying for the South American Club Championship. Milagros Moy won the Most Valuable Player award. The club lost to Unilever the first place of the South American Club tournament, settling with the silver medal.
