Christian Fredrik Michelet (businessman)
Christian Fredrik Michelet (1 August 1891 – 1962) was a Norwegian military officer and businessperson. He was born in Kristiania. He finished his secondary education in 1909 and graduated from the Norwegian Military College in 1915. He became a Premier Lieutenant in 1912, a Captain in 1918, and a Major in 1934. He also had engineer education from the French ''École nationale supérieure de l'aéronautique et de Construction mecanique'' from 1917 to 1919. After graduating there, he worked for Hærens Flyvemaskinfabrik for one year and Elektrisk Bureau for three years. He was hired as a secretary in ''Norsk Celluloseforening'' and ''Den norske Træmasseforening'' in 1926. He served as managing director of the former organization (later renamed ''Cellulosefabrikkenes Felleskontor'') from 1939 to 1961. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. Norske Skog Saugbrugs AS is a pulp mill and paper mill located in Halden, Norway, which produces supercalender (SC) magazine paper. Located in the river Tista in Tistedalen, the mill produces 550,000 tonnes per year in three paper machines. Pulp is produced both from virgin fibers at an on-site thermomechanical pulp (TMP) mill. Part of Norske Skog, it is the sole remaining magazine mill in Norway. Established as Saugbrugsforeningen in 1859, the company consolidated the sawmill operations along Tista, demolishing them and building a new sawmill. Pulp production was established in 1889. A major revamp from 1907 to 1910 saw the construction of Tistedalsfossen Power Station and pulp production based on the sulfite process. It featured approximately 10,000 short biographical entries for Norwegian businesspeople, and was edited by Einar Hoffstad (1894–1959). It was printed by Grøndahl & Søns Boktrykkeri. The purpose of the encyclopedia was to "remedy the need to know something about the individuals one is trading with". The entries contain little genealogical information, and the parents of the portrayed businesspeople are not included. Abbreviations are used extensively to save space and money.
