Chris Chester (rugby League)
Chris Chester (born 8 October 1978) is an English professional rugby league coach who is the former head coach of Wakefield Trinity in the Betfred Super League and Scotland at international level, and a former professional rugby league footballer. As a player, Chester played in the forwards for the Halifax, Wigan Warriors, Hull F.C. (with whom he won the 2005 Challenge Cup) and Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League. He was the head coach of Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League, however his resignation was announced in February/March 2016. On 10 August 2021, A statement from Wakefield Trinity said that they had parted ways with Head Coach Chris Chester, with Willie Poching talking over as interim coach. Kettlethorpe High School
Kettlethorpe High School (KHS) is a mixed secondary school with specialist status for maths and computing in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. It provides for children ages 11–16, with a comprehensive admissions policy, and in January 2022 had an enrolment of 1,619 pupils. Qur'an controversy In February 2023, the school suspended four Year 10 pupils for causing minor damage to the pages of a personal copy of the Qur'an by dropping it accidentally. While there were rumours of deliberate damage, a school investigation finding there was no "malicious intent". The Free Speech Union wrote a letter demanding that West Yorkshire Police expunge the hate incident record against the four boys. Wakefield is a cathedral city in West Yorkshire, England located on the River Calder. Super League III
JJB Sports Super League III was the official name for the year 1998's Super League championship season, the 104th season of top-level professional rugby league football in Britain, and the third season played in summer. The League format changed in 1998 and the championship became a playoff series to determine the Super League champions, similar to the way the Premiership was played for the previous 23 seasons. This meant the first Final to determine the British champions since the 1972–73 season. The team which finished on the top of the table were, from this season, awarded the League Leaders' Shield, with the inaugural honours going to Wigan. Challenge Cup
The Challenge Cup is a knockout rugby league cup competition organised by the Rugby Football League, held annually since 1896, with the exception of 1915–1919 and 1939–1940, due to World War I and World War II respectively. Brian Smith (rugby League, Born 1954)
Brian Smith (born 14 March 1954) is an Australian rugby league coach and former player. He was also the Football Manager for the New Zealand Warriors. Life and career Career Smith played for St. George 1973-74 and South Sydney Rabbitohs (1975-1976 and 1979), appearing in a total of 31 first grade games. However, Smith is best known as a coach, having been at the helm of Illawarra Steelers, where he took over for the 1984 season, before moving to Hull FC, St. George Dragons, Bradford Bulls, Parramatta Eels, the Newcastle Knights and, most recently, at the Sydney Roosters and the NSW Country side. Super League XXI
The 2016 Super League season, known as the First Utility Super League XXI for sponsor reasons, was the 21st season of the Super League and 122nd season of rugby league in Britain. Twelve teams competed over 23 rounds, including the Magic Weekend which took place at St James' Park (Newcastle upon Tyne), after which the eight highest entered the Super League play-offs for a place in the Super League Grand Final. The four lowest teams then entered the qualifying play-offs, along with the four highest teams from the Championship, to determine which teams will play again in Super League XXII. 2015 Challenge Cup
The 2015 Challenge Cup, (also known as the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 114th staging of the rugby league tournament for teams in the Super League, the British National Leagues and a number of invited amateur clubs. The defending champions Leeds Rhinos retained the trophy beating Hull Kingston Rovers 50-0 at Wembley Stadium on 29 August 2015. First round The draw for the first round of the 2015 Challenge Cup was held on 8 January 2015 at Wembley Stadium and featured 40 amateur teams from around the United Kingdom including two student teams, all three armed services and the police. Craig Sandercock
Craig Sandercock is an Australian rugby league coach who is the head coach for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs women's team. He was previously assistant coach to the Bulldogs men's NRL team and the head coach of Super League team Hull Kingston Rovers. Coaching career Sandercock taught Human Society and its Environment (HSIE) subjects at The Pittwater House Schools in Sydney, alongside his role on the coaching staff of the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles before joining the Newcastle Knights in 2010 to be an assistant coach. Castleford Tigers
The Castleford Tigers are a professional rugby league club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England, that compete in the Super League, the top-level professional rugby league club competition in the Northern Hemisphere. The club have competed in the top division for the majority of their existence, having only been relegated twice in their history. They have won the Challenge Cup four times. The Leeds Rhinos are a professional rugby league club in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The club was formed in 1870 as Leeds St John's and play in the Super League, the top tier of English rugby league. They have played home matches at Headingley Stadium since 1890. Bradford Bulls
The Bradford Bulls are a professional rugby league club in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, playing in the Championship. They have won five Challenge Cups, six league championships and three World Club Challenges. The team jersey is predominantly white with red, amber and black chevrons. In 1907, Bradford F.C., founder member of the Rugby Football League, switched codes to association football and Bradford Northern, often abbreviated to Northern, was formed by members who wished to continue rugby.
