Chipilo
Chipilo, officially known as Chipilo de Francisco Javier Mina, is a small city in the state of Puebla, Mexico. It is located south of the state capital Puebla, Puebla, at a height of above sea level. The name itself derives from Náhuatl, meaning "place of the whiner". The settlement and the parish was fully founded by Italian immigrants from a prior community, in the late 19th century. History Chipilo in 1879 was a community named by locals ''Colonia Fernández Leal'', and on October 2, 1882, immigrants from the northern Italian region of Veneto began to settle there. Most came from the town of Segusino and other surrounding towns in the province of Treviso. These immigrants arrived in Mexico in search of fertile land, leaving behind the poverty that was plaguing the Veneto at that time. Chipilo Venetian Dialect
Chipilo Venetian (Venetan) or Chipileño, is a diaspora language and linguistic variant of Venetan, a Romance language belonging to the Gallo-Italian group and native to the Veneto region of Northern Italy, spoken in Chipilo, a town in the Mexican state of Puebla. History Immigrants mainly from the comune of Segusino, some 60 km northwest of Venice, arrived in the region in 1868 during the Porfiriato. At that time, limited schooling and widespread illiteracy among poorer Italians made the use of the regional Italian languages predominant in both formal and informal contexts in Italy. Italians migrating to Mexico were primarily from northeastern Italy, and a large majority spoke variants of the Venetian language. Eduardo Montagner Anguiano is a Chipilo Venetian writer, born in Chipilo, Puebla, Mexico, in an Italian immigrant family. He studied linguistics and Spanish Language (''Letras hispánicas'') at Puebla Autonomous University. He is a translator, poet, novelist and protector of minority languages in Mexico, principally a Chipileño language. Biography He was born in Chipilo (San Gregorio Atzompa Municipality), on May 12, 1975. Martín Stefanonni Mazzocco (born April 30, 1964 in Chipilo, Puebla) is a Mexican lawyer and politician. Born in the small town of Chipilo to Luis Stefanonni Berra and Librada Mazzocco Piloni, Martín and his family relocated to San Miguel de Allende when he was seven years of age, where he grew up and eventually began his political career. A former member of the National Action Party (PAN), Stefanonni served as a deputy in the Chamber of Deputies from 2006 to 2009 and a local deputy in the Congress of Guanajuato. Huatusco
Huatusco de Chicuellar (commonly known as Huatusco), is a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz, on the Xalapa–Mexico City railroad that was founded by Italian immigrants. It is bordered by Calcahualco, the state of Puebla, Ixhuatlán del Café and Federal Highway 180. The oldest church in Huatusco is dedicated to San Antonio de Padua with a height of approximately 20 meters. A nearby hill, called "Cerro de Guadalupe" has a church on top of it, where every year on December 11 and 12 catholic people hold religious festivities. In these days, the priest celebrates with a mass; and after that, people stay around the hill to have a picnic. Economic activities in Huatusco include growing coffee, sugar cane and several fruits. Segusino ( vec, Seguxin) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about northwest of Venice and about northwest of Treviso.
