Charles Van Eaton
Charles S. Van Eaton (10 August 1889 – 13 February 1974) was an American politician and businessman. Early life and career Charles S. Van Eaton was born to parents Matthew Simpson and Pearl Derry Van Eaton in Tacoma, Washington, on 10 August 1889. The Van Eaton family moved to Iowa by the time Charles was three years old, and he spent time in Iowa, as well as western Canada, as a child. Van Eaton earned degrees from Iowa Business College in Council Bluffs and Graceland College in Lamoni in 1908 and 1911, respectively. Van Eaton acquired, owned and operated several business interests, among them a hardware store, furniture store, general store and funeral home in Pisgah, Iowa, and later opened an O. P. Skaggs franchise in Fremont, Nebraska, in 1928. He moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where he opened a chain of supermarkets in 1930, after divesting from his holdings in Fremont, Nebraska. Interstate 80 (I-80) is a transcontinental Interstate Highway in the United States, stretching from San Francisco, California, to Teaneck, New Jersey. Waldo Ralph Fimmen (June 3, 1899 – May 20, 1968), was an American politician from the state of Iowa. Fimmen was born June 3, 1899, in Des Moines County, Iowa, to Henry Fimmen and Lily Westling. The Iowa Senate is the upper house of the Iowa General Assembly, United States. There are 50 seats in the Iowa Senate, representing 50 single-member districts across the state of Iowa with populations of approximately 60,927 per constituency, . Each Senate district is composed of two House districts. The Senate meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Unlike the lower house, the Iowa House of Representatives, Senators serve four-year terms, with no term limits. Terms are staggered so that half the Senate is up for reelection every two years. The Sioux City Municipal Auditorium, known as the Long Lines Family Recreation Center for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose facility in Sioux City, Iowa. The fifth in a line of major indoor venues built in Sioux City, it was designed by Knute E. Westerlind in 1938 and finally completed after many delays in 1950. In the building's original form, it was an arena that seated up to 3,500 people.
