CAMP (studio)
CAMP is a Mumbai-based studio for transdisciplinary media practices founded by Shaina Anand (born 1975 in Mumbai, India) and Ashok Sukumaran (born 1974 in Sapporo, Japan). CAMP's work has been concerned with the history and politics of technology and experimental video and audio. CAMP's work has been exhibited internationally, including at the 2010 Liverpool Biennial, the 2011 Sharjah Biennial, the 2012 New Museum Triennial, Documenta 13 in Kassel and Kabul, the 2013 edition of the Viennale, the 2014 edition of the Shanghai Biennale, and the 2017 edition of the Skulptur Projekte Münster. History CAMP was founded in Mumbai in 2007 by Shaina Anand and Ashok Sukumaran. Shaina Anand was born in 1975 in Mumbai, India. Ashok Sukumaran
Ashok Sukumaran is a Japanese-born Indian contemporary artist. Biography Sukumaran was born to a Japanese mother and an Indian Assamese father in Sapporo, Japan in 1974. Sukumaran grew up in Shimla and did his schooling from St. Edward's School, Shimla. Sukumaran is a trained architect with a degree from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, India. He holds an MFA from Department of Design Media Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the co-founder of the collaborative studiCAMP (along with Shaina Anand) based in Mumbai. Liverpool Biennial
Liverpool Biennial is the largest international contemporary art festival in the United Kingdom. Every two years, the city of Liverpool hosts an extensive range of artworks, projects, and a programme of events. The Sharjah Biennial is a large-scale contemporary art exhibition that takes place once every two years in the city of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The first Sharjah Biennial took place in 1993, and was organized by the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information until it is reorientation in 2003 by Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi. New Museum
The New Museum of Contemporary Art, founded in 1977 by Marcia Tucker, is a museum in New York City at 235 Bowery, on Manhattan's Lower East Side. History The museum originally opened in a space in the Graduate Center of the then-named New School for Social Research at 65 Fifth Avenue. The New Museum remained there until 1983, when it rented and moved to the first two and a half floors of the Astor Building at 583 Broadway in the SoHo neighborhood. Kassel (; in Germany, spelled Cassel until 1926) is a city on the Fulda River in northern Hesse, Germany. The Vienna International Film Festival, or Viennale, is a film festival taking place every October since 1960 in Vienna, Austria. The average number of visitors is about 75,000. Shanghai Biennale
The Shanghai Biennale is one of the highest-profile contemporary art events in Shanghai and the most established art biennale in China. It was initially held in the Shanghai Art Museum. Skulptur Projekte Münster
Skulptur Projekte Münster (English: Sculpture Projects Münster) is an exhibition of sculptures in public places in the town of Münster (Germany). Held every ten years since 1977, the exhibition shows works of invited international artists for free in different locations all over town, thereby confronting art with public places. After every exhibition, the city buys a few of the exhibited sculptures which are then installed permanently. The 4th exhibition in 2007 took place from 16 June to 30 September. The fifth exhibition in 2017 took place from 10 June to 1 October.
