Skulptur Projekte Münster
Skulptur Projekte Münster (English: Sculpture Projects Münster) is an exhibition of sculptures in public places in the town of Münster (Germany). Held every ten years since 1977, the exhibition shows works of invited international artists for free in different locations all over town, thereby confronting art with public places. After every exhibition, the city buys a few of the exhibited sculptures which are then installed permanently. The 4th exhibition in 2007 took place from 16 June to 30 September. The fifth exhibition in 2017 took place from 10 June to 1 October. History The story of the Sculpture Projects in Münster goes back to the 1970s when George Rickey placed his kinetic sculpture, ”Drei rotierende Quadrate” in the German city of Münster. At the time there was a significant public outcry against placement of the artwork. Bruce Nauman (born December 6, 1941) is an American artist. His practice spans a broad range of media including sculpture, photography, neon, video, drawing, printmaking, and performance. Giovanni Anselmo
Giovanni Anselmo (born 1934 in Borgofranco d'Ivrea, Province of Turin, Italy) is an artist who emerged in Italy after World War II within the art movement called Arte Povera. His most famous artwork is ''Untitled (Sculpture That Eats)'' (1968), a piece of art representing time and nature. Richard Serra
Richard Serra (born November 2, 1938) is an American artist known for his large-scale sculptures made for site-specific landscape, urban, and architectural settings. Ulrich Rückriem
Ulrich Rückriem (born 30 September 1938) is a German sculptor notable for his monumental stone sculptures. He lives and works in Cologne and London. His abstract works of art are often assigned to the style of minimalism and process art. Claes Oldenburg
Claes Oldenburg (January 28, 1929 – July 18, 2022) was a Swedish-born American sculptor, best known for his public art installations typically featuring large replicas of everyday objects. Richard Long (artist)
Sir Richard Julian Long, (born 2 June 1945) is an English sculptor and one of the best-known British land artists. Long is the only artist to have been short-listed four times for the Turner Prize. He was nominated in 1984, 1987 and 1988, and then won the award in 1989 for ''White Water Line''. He lives and works in Bristol, the city in which he was born. Long studied at Saint Martin's School of Art before going on to create work using various media including sculpture, photography and text.
