Bad Boy Records (or Bad Boy Entertainment) is an American record label founded in 1993 by rapper Sean "Puffy" Combs. It operates as an imprint of Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. It has been home to many artists, including Craig Mack, The Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, 112, Total, The LOX, Ma$e, Shyne and Carl Thomas. Bertelsmann Music Group
Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) was a division of a German media company Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Sony Corporation of America on 1 October 2008. Although it was established in 1987, the music company was formed as RCA/Ariola International in 1985 as a joint venture to combine the music label activities of RCA's RCA Records division and Bertelsmann's Ariola Records and its associated labels which include Arista Records. ''Ready to Die'' is the debut studio album by American rapper The Notorious B.I.G., released on September 13, 1994, by Bad Boy Records and Arista Records. The album features productions by Bad Boy founder Sean "Puffy" Combs, Easy Mo Bee, Chucky Thompson, DJ Premier, and Lord Finesse, among others. ''Project: Funk da World'' is the debut studio album by rapper Craig Mack, released in 1994. The album was the second release on Bad Boy Records, following the Notorious B.I.G.'s ''Ready to Die'' by one week. Propelled by the success of the platinum RIAA-selling hit single "Flava in Ya Ear," the album reached gold-RIAA sales status on February 22, 1995. "Flava in Ya Ear" also featured a successful remix (not included on the album), featuring guest verses from the Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, Rampage and LL Cool J. "Flava in Ya Ear" is the debut single by American rapper Craig Mack, from his album ''Project Funk da World''. The original club mix single was released on 12" vinyl in July 1994 on the Bad Boy Entertainment record label, packaged with a series of additional remixes. Most famously, there was a remix of the song that featured verses from the Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, Rampage and Busta Rhymes. Music videos were produced for both the original song and the remix.
