Mason Durell Betha (born August 27, 1975), better known by his mononym Mase (formerly Murda Mase and stylized as Ma$e), is an American rapper and minister. In the late 1990s, he recorded on the Bad Boy Records label alongside its founder Sean "Diddy" Combs to significant mainstream success. In 1997 and 1998, as a lead or featured artist, Mase had a total of five platinum singles, five US Rap No. 1 singles, and six ''Billboard'' Hot 100 top 10 singles, including "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down", "Mo Money Mo Problems", "Been Around the World", "Feel So Good", What You Want" and "Lookin' at Me". ''Welcome Back'' is the third studio album by American rapper Mase, released August 24, 2004. The album debuted at No. 4 on the charts, selling 188,000 copies in the first week. The album would eventually go Gold, selling 559,000 copies in the United States. This was Mase's first album to not have a Parental Advisory warning, and his first official studio release since 1999's '' Double Up''. Children of the Corn was an American hip-hop group formed in 1993, consisting of neighborhood friends and fellow Harlem rappers Big L, Cam'ron, Ma$e, Herb McGruff, and Bloodshed. The group's name is a play on words; it is short for Children of the Corner, and also references Stephen King's 1984 film of the same name.
