Theodor Løvstad
Theodor Julius Løvstad (2 September 1843 – 20 April 1913) was a Norwegian musician, magazine editor and revue writer. He was born in Christiania. Løvstad was kapellmeister at various establishments in and around Kristiania, including Tivoli, Bazarhallen, Møllergaten teater, Eldorado and Dovrehallen. He published the humour magazine ''Bakkus'' from 1878 to 1883, and edited the satirical magazine ''Vikingen'' from 1883 until his death in 1913. Among his contributions was the popular column ''Kjæftausa'', signed by the fictitious "Ka'l Olsen fra Vika". He wrote songs and monologues for theatres and several revues, including ''Fra Vika til Ekebergtoppen''. Herman Johan Foss Reimers (15 September 1843 – 7 February 1928) was Norwegian judge and politician for the Conservative Party. Background Reimers was born at Bergen in Hordaland, Norway. Yngvar Nielsen
Yngvar Nielsen (29 July 1843, Arendal, Aust-Agder – 2 March 1916) was a Norwegian historian, politician, geographer and pioneer of tourism in Norway. Background Nielsen was born in Arendal, Aust-Agder. He was the son of Norwegian Telegraph Director, Carsten Tank Nielsen (1818–92) and Alvilde Olsen (1821–1890). Nielsen descended on both father's and mother's side from the established civil and commercial bourgeoisie. His grandfather, Jacob Nielsen, had been one of Christiania's largest lumber dealers and director of the National Bank. Career Nielsen studied philology and took a linguistic-historical degree in 1865. After three years as a teacher at Nissens Latin School (interrupted by several rounds of archival studies in Sweden and Denmark), he was employed in the National Archival Services of Norway (''Arkivverket'') from 1869 to 1978 and at the same time served as librarian at the Deichman Library. Axel Gudbrand Blytt
Axel Gudbrand Blytt (19 May 1843 – 18 July 1898) was a Norwegian professor, botanist and geologist. He was the author of a number of books regarding the flora of Norway. Today he is most associated with his role in developing the Blytt-Sernander theory of climatic change. Biography Blytt was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Matthias Numsen Blytt (1789–1862) and Ambrosia Henriksen (1822–1900). His father was a noted professor of botany at The Royal Frederick University (now University of Oslo). He graduated Examen artium from Royal Frederick University in 1860. After the death of his father in 1862, he continued his father's work with Norwegian flora. Axel Blytt served with the Christiania Herbarium at the University of Oslo from 1865, first as a conservator, then from 1880 as a professor. Oscar Nissen
Elias Gottlieb Oscar Egede Nissen (31 October 1843 – 4 January 1911) was a Norwegian physician, newspaper editor and politician. He belonged to the Norwegian Labour Party from 1889 to his death, and was both party leader, party secretary as well as editor of the party organ ''Social-Demokraten'' for a period. He also made his mark as a campaigner for temperance and better health conditions. He was also chairman of the Norwegian Santal Mission. Personal life Nissen was born in Tromsø as the son of physician Heinrich Nissen (1802–1866) and Fayette Ørbech (1806–1884). His father had migrated from Holstein to Norway in 1825, and his mother was born at Falster. Through his mother, Oscar Nissen was a descendant of missionary Hans Egede.
