Juvikfolket
''The People of Juvik'' is a series of six historical novels by Norwegian author Olav Duun. The books chronicle the lives of the Juvikings, an old Norwegian landowning peasant family living on Islands off the coast of Namdalen, Trøndelag. The series covers six or seven generations of Juvikings, starting with Per Anders Juvik, the last of the old style Juvikings, and ending with Per and Anders, the sons of Odin Setran, Per Anders' great-great-great grandfather. The first novel, ''The Trough of the Wave'' (''Juvikingar'' in Norwegian), starts out at Juvika, a fictional farm in the Namdal, but moves to Haaberg when Per Anders' son Per leaves his ancestral lands and buys his sister's late husband's farm. The first three books follow the Juvikings from the 18th century to the late 19th; the final three follow the childhood, life and eventually death of Odin. Kåre Olafsen
Kåre Adolf Olafsen (19 January 1920 – 17 March 1945) was a Norwegian resistance member who was executed during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. He was born in Sørum, and lived in Østre Aker. He became involved in Milorg in 1941, during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, and was responsible for transport and provisioning in the district. His last mission was ''Aksjon smør'', in which Milorg men stole foodstuffs from two warehouses, one in the street ''Tollbugata'' belonging to German forces, and one in the street ''Skippergata'' belonging to Arbeidstjenesten. The foodstuffs were distributed to Milorg men who hid in the forests surrounding Oslo. He was arrested by the Nazi authorities on 13 February 1945, during a crackdown which began when two Gestapo officers intercepted a resistance meeting in Storm Weinholdt's home. Helge Rognlien
Helge Rognlien (14 January 1920 – 15 July 2001) was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was born in Oslo. At the outbreak of World War II, Rognlien was a student at the University of Oslo. After the German occupation of Norway in 1940, he was a member of the new governing body of the Norwegian Students' Society, which included students from all political groups, except the National Socialists. Rognlien represented the Liberal Student Association. A troubled relationship with the Nazi regime ensued until 15 October 1943, when 63 prominent students were arrested, and Rognlien was one of them. After a time in Bredtveit and Berg concentration camps until 8 December 1943, he spent the rest of the war years in captivity in Sennheim in Alsace and Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Ole Henrik Moe
Ole Henrik Moe (11 January 1920 – 29 July 2013) was a Norwegian pianist, art historian and art critic. He was born in Lillehammer, and is the brother of archaeologist Anne Stine Ingstad. During World War II he was a member of the intelligence organization XU. He was arrested in October 1942, and was incarcerated in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp from 1943 to 1945. He was manager of the Henie-Onstad Art Centre from 1966 to 1989. Among his works are ''Slekten Knagenhjelm og Kaupanger'' from 1960, and biographies of Lars Hertervig and Inger Sitter. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1980, and was Officer of the French Légion d'honneur. Willy Brandt
Willy Brandt (; born Herbert Ernst Karl Frahm; 18 December 1913 – 8 October 1992) was a German politician and statesman who was leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) from 1964 to 1987 and served as the chancellor of West Germany from 1969 to 1974. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1971 for his efforts to strengthen cooperation in western Europe through the EEC and to achieve reconciliation between West Germany and the countries of Eastern Europe. He was the first Social Democrat chancellor since 1930. Fleeing to Norway and then Sweden during the Nazi regime and working as a left-wing journalist, he took the name Willy Brandt as a pseudonym to avoid detection by Nazi agents, and then formally adopted the name in 1948. Anders Bratholm (7 January 1920 – 8 July 2010) was a Norwegian professor and legal scholar. Biography Bratholm was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. His parents were Johan Bernhard Bratholm (1893–1967) and Petra Marie Ratvik (1895–1971). He took his doctorate degree in 1958. After graduation, he was a judge prior to becoming a fellow student at the University of Oslo. He was a professor of jurisprudence at the University of Oslo from 1960, a position he held until his retirement in 1990. His legal field was primarily criminal law which he taught at the university. He published ''Pågripelse og varetektsfengsel'' (1957) and numerous other books. He was editor-in-chief of the newspaper ''Dagningen'' from 1945 until 1947, and of the journal '' Lov og Rett'' from 1962 until 1990.
