Theodor Løvstad
Theodor Julius Løvstad (2 September 1843 – 20 April 1913) was a Norwegian musician, magazine editor and revue writer. He was born in Christiania. Løvstad was kapellmeister at various establishments in and around Kristiania, including Tivoli, Bazarhallen, Møllergaten teater, Eldorado and Dovrehallen. He published the humour magazine ''Bakkus'' from 1878 to 1883, and edited the satirical magazine ''Vikingen'' from 1883 until his death in 1913. Among his contributions was the popular column ''Kjæftausa'', signed by the fictitious "Ka'l Olsen fra Vika". He wrote songs and monologues for theatres and several revues, including ''Fra Vika til Ekebergtoppen''. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. Originally used to refer to somebody in charge of music in a chapel, the term has evolved considerably in its meaning and is today used for denoting the leader of a musical ensemble, often smaller ones used for TV, radio, and theatres. ''Vikingen'' (meaning ''The Viking'' in English) is a former Norwegian satirical magazine, published from 1862 to 1947. Among the contributors were the satirical illustrators Olaf Krohn, Andreas Bloch, Gustav Lærum and Olaf Gulbransson. History and profile The weekly comic magazine ''Vikingen'' was established by printer Henning Tønsberg in Kristiania in 1862. The first issue was published on 4 October 1862. Johan Ludvig Vibe, Johan Schønheyder and Olaf Skavlan were also instrumental in the establishment of the magazine and they worked as editors. Bygdøy or Bygdø is a peninsula situated on the western side of Oslo, Norway. Administratively, Bygdøy belongs to the borough of Frogner; historically Bygdøy was part of Aker Municipality and became part of Oslo in 1948. Bygdøy is a popular recreation area and is among the most fashionable residential areas in Norway, where the most expensive properties in the entire country are found. Bygdøy is also the home of five national museums as well as a royal estate.
