Bastard!!
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. It began its serialization in Shueisha's ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' in 1988, and has continued irregularly in ''Ultra Jump'' since 2000, with its latest chapter released in 2010. As of 2012, 27 collected ''tankōbon'' volumes have been released. The manga was formerly licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media; only the first 19 volumes were released. Hagiwara is an enthusiastic fan of heavy metal music and ''Dungeons & Dragons'', using ideas from both of these in the ''Bastard!!'' story. Many characters and places in the story, for instance, are named after members of Hagiwara's favorite bands. The manga was adapted into a six-episode original video animation (OVA) series by AIC, released from 1992 to 1993. The OVA was released in North America by Pioneer in 1998. Kazushi Hagiwara
is a Japanese manga artist best known for creating the manga ''Bastard!!''. Biography He originally began as an assistant to hentai manga artist Dirty Matsumoto, and then as an assistant to manga artist Izumi Matsumoto in the production of ''Kimagure Orange Road'', creating his own stories in his spare time. He debuted in ''Weekly Shonen Jump'' with two short stories, ''Binetsu Rouge'' (in 1987) and ''Virgin Tyrant'' (in 1988). He has also supervised, co-written and illustrated three ''Bastard!!'' related novels for the ''Jump! J Books'' imprint. His group of assistants are called ''Studio Loud In School''. Yōsuke Kuroda
is a Japanese anime screenwriter from Mie Prefecture, Japan. He has his own studio enterprise, Studio Orphee. Kuroda is noted for his work on authoring the scenario, screenplay and story composition of the anime series ''Excel Saga'', ''Please Teacher!'' and its sequel ''Please Twins!'', ''Honey and Clover'', ''Mobile Suit Gundam 00'' and numerous others. is a prolific Japanese composer and arranger for anime and video game series.
