Baguio
Baguio ( , ), officially the City of Baguio ( ilo, Siudad ti Baguio; fil, Lungsod ng Baguio), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines. It is known as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines", owing to its cool climate since the city is located approximately above mean sea level, often cited as in the Luzon tropical pine forests ecoregion, which also makes it conducive for the growth of mossy plants, orchids and pine trees, to which it attributes its other moniker as the "City of Pines". Baguio was established as a hill station by the United States in 1900 at the site of an Ibaloi village known as ''Kafagway''. It was the United States' only hill station in Asia. BLISTT
BLISTT (informally, Metro Baguio) is an agglomeration of the city of Baguio and five Municipalities of the Philippines, municipalities of the province of Benguet, namely: La Trinidad, Benguet, La Trinidad, Itogon, Benguet, Itogon, Sablan, Benguet, Sablan, Tuba, Benguet, Tuba, and Tublay, Benguet, Tublay. Long proposed and supported by the National Economic and Development Authority, NEDA-Regional Development Council-Cordillera, it as one of twelve defined metropolitan areas in the Philippines. Benjamin Magalong
Benjamin "Benjie" Bañez Magalong (born December 15, 1960) is a Filipino politician and retired police officer serving as the mayor of Baguio since 2019. Before entering politics, he served in the Philippine Constabulary and Philippine National Police (PNP) for 38 years. He was the chief of the Cordillera regional police office, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM). He retired with the rank of Police Deputy Director General as the PNP's Deputy Chief for Operations. Born and raised in Baguio, Magalong graduated from the Philippine Military Academy in 1982. Benguet
Benguet (), officially the Province of Benguet ('';'' ; pag, Luyag/Probinsia na Benguet; ilo, Probinsia ti Benguet; ), is a landlocked province of the Philippines located in the southern tip of the Cordillera Administrative Region in the island of Luzon. Marquez "Mark" Ocampo Go (born September 28, 1952) is a Filipino businessman and politician. The Baguio City Council ( fil, Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Baguio}) is Baguio's Sangguniang Panlungsod or legislative body. The council has 15 members which is composed of 12 councilors, one ''ex officio'' member elected from the ranks of barangay (neighborhood) chairmen, one ''ex officio'' member elected from the ranks of Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) chairmen and one presiding officer.
