Bachtiar Nasir
Bachtiar Nasir ( ar, الشيخ بختيار ناصر) is an Indonesian Islamist da'i and ulama. He is known for his examination and exploration of the sciences of the Qur'an. The ustad leads the Ar-Rahman Qur'anic Learning Center (AQL) Islamic Center, and also serves as the Secretary General of Intellectual Assembly of Young Ulama Indonesia (MIUMI), Chairman of Alumni of Saudi Arabia in Indonesia, and Chairman of Islamic University of Medina Alumni in Indonesia. He also served as the Central Executive of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). Nasir often appeared on national television and was a judge on Hafidz Indonesia Event with Ustad Amir Faishol Fath and Syeh Ali Jabeer. His prominence further increased when, as leader of the National Movement of Fatwa Guards Majelis Ulama Indonesia (GNPF-MUI), he spearheaded a protest movement that commenced in November 2016 with the aim of thwarting the re-election bid of then-Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama
Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (, Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: ''Chûng Van-ho̍k''; born 29 June 1966) is an Indonesian businessman, politician, and former governor of Jakarta. He is also known by his Hakka Chinese nickname Ahok (). He was the second minority governor of Jakarta with Chinese ancestry and also of the Evangelical faith, following Henk Ngantung, who was governor of Catholic faith from 1964–65. Ahok was a legislator in the Indonesian People's Representative Council (DPR) and Regent of East Belitung. He was elected to the House of Representatives for the 2009–2014 term but resigned in 2012 to run for the deputy governorship of Jakarta, to which he was elected. Islam is the largest religion in Indonesia, with 86.7% of the Indonesian population identifying themselves as Muslim in a 2018 survey. Chinese Indonesians ( id, Orang Tionghoa Indonesia) and colloquially Chindo or just Tionghoa are Indonesians whose ancestors arrived from China at some stage in the last eight centuries.
