It is found from central Mexico north to central California, Utah, Wyoming and Nebraska, east to Arkansas and Alabama. Its wingspan is 34–38 mm. Herbert Knowles Morrison (January 24, 1854 – June 15, 1885) was an American entomologist and professional collector of insects. He was one of the founding members of the Cambridge Entomological Club, Massachusetts. Morrison was born in Boston, the oldest child of William Albert and Mary Elizabeth (née Butler). Erebidae
The Erebidae are a family of moths in the superfamily Noctuoidea. The family is among the largest families of moths by species count and contains a wide variety of well-known macromoth groups.
