Buffer Zone, Karachi
Buffer Zone ( ur, ) is one of the neighbourhoods of North Nazimabad Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, namely it's UC9. The Government of Pakistan reserved this land in 1950s as "Buffer Zone" from Urban sprawl in Karachi for future construction of Government offices and residential neighborhood for bureaucrats but in early 1960 the capital of Pakistan was transferred from Karachi to newly built Islamabad and this land was sold to land developers. North Nazimabad Town
North Nazimabad Town ( ur, ) lies in the northern part of the city that was named after the suburb of North Nazimabad. North Nazimabad Town was formed in 2001 as part of The Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 10 union councils and North Nazimabad Town was re-organized as part of Karachi Central District in 2015. In January 2022, the town system was restored by a Government of Sindh notification dividing Karachi into 26 towns and 233 union councils. Urban sprawl (also known as suburban sprawl or urban encroachment) is defined as "the spreading of urban developments (such as houses and shopping centers) on undeveloped land near a city." Urban sprawl has been described as the unrestricted growth in many urban areas of housing, commercial development, and roads over large expanses of land, with little concern for urban planning. Sarfaraz Ahmed ( ur, ; born 22 May 1987) is a Pakistani professional cricketer, a wicketkeeper-batsman, who plays for the Pakistani national cricket team. Union Councils of Karachi are local governments in Karachi. Union Council is the primary governmental institution in Pakistan. Headed by a Union Nazim, each union council has 13 elected members or councilors. In addition to four male and two female members elected directly, there are two male and two female representatives of the labor, a minority member, a Union Nazim and his deputy known as Union Naib Nazim.
