Brødrene Hansen
Brødrene Hansen ("Hansen Brothers") is a Norwegian real estate company and former retailer in Oslo. It was established by the brothers August, Jørgen, and Hans O. Hansen on 17 October 1864. It was located at the address ''Kongens gade 29'', then ''Nedre slotsgade 15'' from 1899. August Hansen was both the first to retire from the company, and the first founder to die (in 1913). The company was passed down to Jørgen's sons August Walle-Hansen, August and Thomas Walle-Hansen. The third generation, with Tom and Hans Jørgen Walle-Hansen, later entered the company. The company contained retailing and wholesaling of dry goods as well as a readymade clothing factory. In 1969 the retail outlet in ''Nedre slottsgate 15'' was sold to Adelsten Jensen. Brødrene Hansen is now a real estate company. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. August Walle-Hansen
August Walle-Hansen (16 January 1877 – 1964) was a Norwegian businessperson. After middle school and commerce school, he was hired in the family company Brødrene Hansen in 1893. He was a son of Jørgen Hansen, who had founded the company together with two brothers in 1864. August's brother Thomas Walle-Hansen was also hired. He was a board member of Forsikringsselskapet Viking and supervisory council member of Den norske Creditbank, Grand Hotel (Oslo), Grand Hotel and Norsk Hotelcompagnie. He was a member of the gentlemen's skiing club SK Fram (Oslo), SK Fram from 1891, and received honorary membership in 1964. He died later the same year. Hans Jørgen Kåre Strugstad Walle-Hansen (6 April 1912 – 26 November 2012) was a Norwegian businessperson. He finished his secondary education in 1930 and graduated from Kristiania Commerce School in 1931. After studies in Heidelberg and Munich he took the cand.oecon. degree in 1934. In 1935 he was hired in the family company Brødrene Hansen, where he became partner in 1941. Dry Goods
Dry goods is a historic term describing the type of product line a store carries, which differs by region. The term comes from the textile trade, and the shops appear to have spread with the mercantile trade across the British Empire (and former British territories) as a means of bringing supplies and manufactured goods to far-flung settlements and homesteads. Starting in the mid-18th century, these stores began by selling supplies and textile goods to remote communities, and many customized the products they carried to the area's needs. This continued to be the trend well into the early 20th century. With the rise of department stores and catalog sales, the decline of dry goods stores began, and the term has largely fallen out of use. Sarpsborg ( or ), historically Borg, is a city and municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Sarpsborg. Sarpsborg is part of the fifth largest urban area in Norway when paired with neighbouring Fredrikstad. Moss, Norway
is a coastal town and a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Moss. The city of Moss was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt) and City in 1720. The rural municipality of Jeløy was merged with the city on 1 July 1943. The former municipality of Rygge was merged into it on January 1, 2020. Its administrative district covers areas east of the town, such as the island of Dillingøy in the lake Vansjø.
