Brisom
Brisom is a synthwave pop band from Manila, Philippines. Formed in 2013, it is composed of Brian Sombero on vocals, guitars and synths, Timothy Abbott on synths, beats and programming, Jason Rondero on bass, and Jeffrey Castro on drums and samplers. The band has been known for their 80s-inspired synth music. They released their debut EP ''Perspectives'' in 2014, followed by the release of their full-length album ''Limerence'' in 2016. Myx Music Awards 2018
Myx Music Awards 2018 was the 13th installment of the Myx Music Awards, acknowledging the biggest hit makers of 2017 in the Philippine music industry. For the seventh consecutive year, fans could vote online through the Myx website. Nominees were announced on February 28, 2018 starting at 12nn via Facebook Live streaming. Leading the nominees were Jona, James Reid and Sarah Geronimo with five nominations, each. It may have been noticed that the category names were changed this year replacing the word ''Favorite'' into ''of the year''. Synthwave (also called outrun, retrowave, or futuresynth) is an electronic music microgenre that is based predominantly on the music associated with action, science-fiction, and horror film soundtracks of the 1980s. Other influences are drawn from the decade's art and video games. Synthwave musicians often espouse nostalgia for 1980s culture and attempt to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it.
