Breakwater Resources was a mining company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. On August 26, 2011 the company was acquired by Nyrstar. Nanisivik Mine
Nanisivik Mine was a zinc-lead mine in the company town of Nanisivik, Nunavut, north of the Arctic Circle on Baffin Island. It was Canada's first mine in the Arctic. The mine first opened on 15 October 1976 and permanently closed in September 2002 due to low metal prices and declining resources. Mine reclamation began in April 2003. It was one of the most northerly mines in the world. The mine was served by a port and dock located about north. It was used for shipping concentrate from the site, and receiving supplies. It is currently used by the Canadian Coast Guard for training and is intended to become Nanisivik Naval Facility. El Toqui Mine
El Toqui mine is a zinc-gold mine in Chile. Besides silver and lead are also mined in El Toqui. The mine is owned by Breakwater Resources through its wholly owned subsidiary company Sociedad Contractual Minera el Toqui. The mine was purchased from Barrick Gold Corporation in 1997. The mine is powered by a 4 Mw diesel power plant and a 2 Mw hydroelectric power plant. Honduras

El Mochito Mine
El Mochito mine is an underground zinc and silver mine in Honduras that is owned by Ascendant Resources. The mine is located near the municipality of Las Vegas in northwest section Honduras. At approximately northeast of the mine, the closest major city is San Pedro Sula, which also acts as the commercial centre of the country. History The deposit was discovered in 1938. The Rosario Mining Company purchased the property in 1943 and began production in 1948. American Pacific Mining Corporation purchased the property in September 1987, and in March 1990, Breakwater Resources acquired American Pacific and the mine. In August 2011, Nyrstar successfully completed its acquisition of Breakwater Resources. Myra Falls, also known as Lower Myra Falls, is a waterfall located at the southern end of Buttle Lake on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The falls are protected within Strathcona-Westmin Provincial Park.
