Adib Boroumand
Adib Boroumand (or Adīb Borūmand) ( fa, ادیب برومند; 11 June 1924 – 13 March 2017) was an Iranian poet, politician, and lawyer. He was the head of the leadership council and chairman of the central council of the National Front of Iran. He is known as the national poet of Iran. He was born on 11 June 1924 in Gaz, Borkhar County, Isfahan, Persia (present-day Iran). He received a BA in Judicial Law from the University of Tehran, and since then he had been lived in Tehran. Behrouz Boroumand ( fa, بهروز برومند) is an Iranian physician and political activist. Early life and education Boroumand was born in Qaemshahr, Mazandaran province, and obtained his medical degree from University of Tehran Medical School. He did his residency in Hackensack, New Jersey and District of Columbia General Hospital, and gained a fellowship in nephrology and nephropathology at Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Medical career During the 1970s, Boroumand worked at the 'National Dialysis and Transplant Committee' of health ministry and collaborated in the first kidney transplantation service in Iran. From 1976 to 1980, he was the president of 'Iranian Society of Nephrology' and office he holds for the second spell since 2000. Manouchehr Boroumand ( fa, منوچهر برومند, 26 March 1934 – 21 December 2017) was an Iranian heavyweight weightlifter. He was selected for the 1960 Summer Olympics, but withdrew in the last moment due to an illness; he also missed the 1962 Asian Games because Iran did not send a delegation there. At the 1964 Summer Olympics he placed 12th. Amir Masoud Boroumand ( fa, امیرمسعود برومند; 12 November 1928 – 8 March 2011) was an Iranian footballer who played as a striker. He was the Iran national team's captain during the 1950s. Club career In 1945, Boroumand he started his club career with Shahbaz, the third team of Shahin. The following year, he became a reserve player for Shahin, before becoming a starter in 1947. He stayed at the club until 1958. Parviz Boroumand Sharif ( fa, پرویز برومند شریف , born 30 May 1974, in Tehran) is an Iranian football goalkeeper who currently is head coach of Dore 98 F.C. in Iran 2nd division League. Club career Broumand previously played for IPL sides Esteghlal and Rah Ahan. Broumand was also formerly an Iranian national team player who was reserve goalkeeper in the 1998 FIFA World Cup squad. His most memorable performance was for Esteghlal FC against Persepolis FC in 2001 when he struck a Persepolis player Payan Rafat in the face starting one of the largest fights in the history of the rivalry.
