Masoud Boroumand
Amir Masoud Boroumand ( fa, امیرمسعود برومند; 12 November 1928 – 8 March 2011) was an Iranian footballer who played as a striker. He was the Iran national team's captain during the 1950s. Club career In 1945, Boroumand he started his club career with Shahbaz, the third team of Shahin. The following year, he became a reserve player for Shahin, before becoming a starter in 1947. He stayed at the club until 1958. Whilst studying for a PhD at Washington University in the United States, he played for the university's football team, the Washington University Bears, and won the double 1958 Eastern USA Soccer League and Eastern USA Soccer Cup. Boroumand played football whilst studying at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, between 1959 and 1961, and became known as "the Iranian Prince" ( ar, امیر الایرانی). Shahin FC
Shahin Tehran Football Club ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال شاهین تهران, Shāhīn meaning ''Falcon''), also spelled Shaahin or Shaheen, from 1973 to 1979 known as Shahbaz ( fa, شهباز, Shahbāz, meaning '' Shahbaz''), is an Iranian football club based in Tehran, Iran. Shahin A.C. is located at East of Tehran in the Narmak neighborhood (Golestan Street). Shahin was the most popular clubs in Iran before the 1960s and it had a rivalry with Taj Tehran. Their match was the most important derby of Iran at the time. Shahin F.C. was dissolved in 1967 for political reasons. The club was revived again after the Iranian Revolution in 1979. Due to the Iran–Iraq War, the national league was not held during the 1980s, however, Shahin was one of the strongest teams in the provincial league of Tehran. Football At The Asian Games
The men's football tournament has been a regular Asian Games sporting event since the 1951 edition, while the women's tournament began in 1990. History The first Asian Games had football tournament. Since the 2002 Asian Games, age limit for men teams is under-23 plus up to three overage players for each squad, same as the age limit in football competitions at the Summer Olympics. The Persian Gulf Pro League (PGL) is the highest level of club football in Iran. It is also called the Pro League. Below it is the Azadegan League, also known as the 1st division and called the League 1, which consists of one twenty-team group. One level further down from that is the 2nd division, also known as a League 2 which is made up of 40 teams evenly distributed into four groups. One step down, and the final nationwide league, is the 3rd division, also known as a League 3. This level has five groups and 60 teams. Behesht-e Zahra
Behesht-e Zahra ( fa, بهشت زهرا, lit. ''The Paradise of Zahra'', from Fatima az-Zahra) is the largest cemetery in Iran. Located in the southern part of metropolitan Tehran, it is connected to the city by Tehran Metro Line 1. History In the early 1950s, all the cemeteries in Tehran were supposed to be replaced by several large new ones outside the then precincts of the capital. Behesht-e Zahra was built in late 1960s on the southern side of Tehran towards the direction of the city of Qom and opened on 29 June 1970 by mayor of Tehran, Gholamreza Nikpey.
