Taraneh Boroumand
Taraneh Boroumand () is an Iranian playwright, writer, poet, and translator. She is the author of a collection of short stories, a book of poetry, and three plays. She is best known for her theatrical debut ''Gereh-i dar Tār-o-Pūd-e Naqš'' ("A Knot in the Warp and Weft of a Design"), a play about a journey and decision through which one character ultimately finds herself and another loses himself. It made its debut at the 27th Fajr International Theater Festival in 2007 where it was selected as the Year’s Top Drama. The play went on to a successful run across Iran and neighboring countries. Early life She was born in Tehran to a literary family. Her father was a librarian and historian. Her uncle Adib Boroumand was an Iranian poet, politician, lawyer, head of the Leadership Council, and Chairman of Central Council of the National Front of Iran. Tehran
Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran. Fajr International Theater Festival (est. 1983) occurs annually in Iran, featuring local and international theatrical works and performers. Adib Boroumand
Adib Boroumand (or Adīb Borūmand) ( fa, ادیب برومند; 11 June 1924 – 13 March 2017) was an Iranian poet, politician, and lawyer. He was the head of the leadership council and chairman of the central council of the National Front of Iran. He is known as the national poet of Iran. He was born on 11 June 1924 in Gaz, Borkhar County, Isfahan, Persia (present-day Iran). He received a BA in Judicial Law from the University of Tehran, and since then he had been lived in Tehran.
