Bo'ame
Bo'ame () is an ancient town in the eastern Sool region. Somaliland has effective control there since 2022, but Puntland also has a territorial claim. It is the capital of Bo'ame district which includes the small towns of Karin-gorfood, Fardhidin, Dan-Gudban, Caleeli, Buura-wadal and Garaca Dacare and Biriqodayaga. Bo'ame is a commercial centre for the largely agricultural district. Bo'ame has a business relationship to many cities such as Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland, Galkacyo, Bosasso and Las Anod, the capital of Sool. Recent History In early 1993, the Dhulbahante clan held a reconciliation meeting in Bo'ame (Boocame I). Dhulbahante, who lives in Kenya, participated in the meeting. Sool, Somalia
Sool ( so, Sool, ar, صول) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in south eastern Somaliland/north western Somalia. It borders Togdheer to the west, Sanaag to the north, Ethiopia to the south and Nugal, Bari to the east. Its capital city is Las Anod. The region is disputed by the self-declared Republic of Somaliland and Puntland, a Federal Member State of Somalia. The region is partially controlled by both polities. Territorial dispute Sool is disputed by Somaliland and Puntland. The former basis its claim on the British Somaliland protectorate borders, and the later on the territory inhabited by the Harti clan that established the state in 1998. Khatumo State and its predecessor SSC Movement which rejected both claims also made attempts to establish a separate administration in the region. Fardhidin
Fardhidin () is a town in the Sool region of Somaliland/Somalia. The town is 50 miles away from Las Anod, the provincial capital. History During the Somaliland campaign, the town was the site of a major battle between Dervish troops led by Mohammed Abdullah Hassan and the Somaliland Camel Corps. In June 2013, an outbreak of acute watery diarrhea occurred in the surrounding villages of Bo'ame, including Fardhidin, infecting many small children. In November 2017, there was an outbreak of measles that killed children in the surrounding villages of Bo'ame, including Fardhidin. Residents sought help from Bo'ame district head Xayle Xasan Shire, and Shire requested assistance from the Puntland government. Las Anod District ( so, Degmada Laascaanood) is a district in the eastern Sool region of Somaliland. It has its capital at Las Anod. Karin-gorfood
Karin-gorfood (Karin-garfood, Karin-karfood) is a town in the Sool region of Somaliland/Somalia. Education According to the 2007 survey, Karin-gorfood has an integrated school with 90 students. However, this year was severely affected by the drought and the resulting displacement. History In June 2008, the International Committee of the Red Cross donated rice, oil, and cowpeas to a poor district in the Sool region including Karin-gorfood. In September 2012, Minister of Education Puntland inspected the educational situation in Karin-gorfood and other cities. The regions of Somaliland ( so, Gobolada Somaliland; ar, محافظات صوماليلاند) is divided into six administrative regions, Awdal, Sahil, Maroodi-Jeeh, Togdheer, Sanaag and Sool. Borama Conference
The Somaliland Peace Process refers to the series of grassroot initiatives that brought peace to Somaliland after the collapse of central government of Somalia. In conjunction with the Somali National Movement, communities in Somaliland (formerly British Somaliland) negotiated a series of truces to end hostilities and address the grievances between the communities who were often on opposing sides to the Barre regime. As a result, this process acted as a key building block that led to the Borama grand reconciliation conference in 1993 allowing the transfer of rule from the SNM interim government to a new civilian administration paving way for democratic rule and stability. Ahmed Elmi Osman
Personal life Osman belongs to the Dhulbahante Harti Darod clan. Career Early career In 2009, Osman served as the Minister of Aviation of the autonomous Puntland state in northeastern Somalia. He later helped form Khatumo State administration, acting as one of its three "presidents". In 2013, Osman presented himself as a Vice President candidate in the 2014 Puntland elections, which took place on 8 January 2014 in Garowe. Hudun () is a historical town in the eastern Sool region of Somaliland, and the seat of the Hudun District. Overview Located in southeast Somaliland, Hudun lies 59 kilometres north by road from the provincial capital of Las Anod. Taleh
Taleh ( so, Taleex, ar, تليح) is a historical town in the eastern Sool, Somalia, Sool region of Somaliland. As of September 2015, both Puntland and Somaliland had nominal influence or control in Taleh and it's vicinity. The town served as the capital of the pre-independence Dervish movement (Somali), Dervish movement.Laurence, p.47. The Dalyare fort and the Taleh complex built between 1909 and 1910 are among the least disfigured Dervish era structures that remain in Sool province, whom altogether comprise 27 Dervish era structures. Khatumo State
Khatumo State ( so, Khaatumo; ar, ولاية خاتمة, translit=wilāyat khātimah), officially the Khatumo State of Somalia ( so, Dowlad Goboleedka Khaatumo ee Soomaaliya), was a successor to the SSC Movement. Centred on the Sool, Sanaag regions and the Buuhoodle district of Togdheer region, its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 2012. By 2015 the state ceased to function and on 20 October 2017 in Aynaba, an agreement was signed between Khatumo President and the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution and to re-integrate the territory into Somaliland.
