Administrative Divisions Of Somaliland
The administrative division of Somaliland are organized into three hierarchical levels. consists of 6 regions and 22 districts. Districts in turn contain villages. In addition, the capital Hargeisa has its own law (capital law) that is different from the law that defines administrative divisions. Sool, Somalia
Sool ( so, Sool, ar, صول) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in south eastern Somaliland/north western Somalia. It borders Togdheer to the west, Sanaag to the north, Ethiopia to the south and Nugal, Bari to the east. Its capital city is Las Anod. The region is disputed by the self-declared Republic of Somaliland and Puntland, a Federal Member State of Somalia. The region is partially controlled by both polities. The former basis its claim on the British Somaliland protectorate borders, and the later on the territory inhabited by the Harti clan that established the state in 1998. Las Anod
Las Anod ( so, Laascaanood; ar, لاسعانود) is the administrative capital of the Sool region of Somaliland. Territorial dispute The city is disputed by Puntland and Somaliland. The former bases its claim due to the kinship ties between the Dhulbahante clan and the dominant clan in Puntland, the Majeerteen, whilst the latter's claim is grounded on the border of the former British Somaliland Protectorate. The city was the proclaimed capital of Khatumo State throughout its existence until its dissolvement in 2017. Somaliland forces captured the city in the Battle of Las Anod in 2007, ousting Puntland forces, and has maintained full control of the city in all aspects since. Until now Somaliland governs Las Anod with little legitimacy or popularity, while regular unknown assassinations have deteriorated the security situation. Yagori
Yagori ( so, Yagoori, Yaguri) is a town in the eastern Sool Region of Somaliland/Somalia. In January 1991, a peace conference was held in Yagori under the leadership of the Somali National Movement (later the government of Somaliland), and Habr Je'lo, Habar Yoonis, and Dhulbahante clans participated. In July 2002, the Somaliland army deployed 450 troops in Yagori. The governor of Puntland's Sool region, who was in Las Anod at the time, condemned the move, saying it would split the Harti clan. Adhi'adeye or Ade Adeeye ( Somali: ''Adhi Cadeeye'') is a town in the Sool region of Somaliland. It is around 30 miles northwest of Las Anod, the regional capital of Sool. Bo'ame
Bo'ame () is an ancient town in the eastern Sool region. Somaliland has effective control there since 2022, but Puntland also has a territorial claim. It is the capital of Bo'ame district which includes the small towns of Karin-gorfood, Fardhidin, Dan-Gudban, Caleeli, Buura-wadal and Garaca Dacare and Biriqodayaga. Bo'ame is a commercial centre for the largely agricultural district. Bo'ame has a business relationship to many cities such as Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland, Galkacyo, Bosasso and Las Anod, the capital of Sool. Tukaraq
Tukaraq is a small village in the eastern Sool region of Somaliland. The town is located on the road between Las Anod and Garowe in Las Anod District. Overview On 15 May 2018 intense increase in military activity occurred between rival Puntland and Somaliland armed forces in the surrounding area of Tukaraq. Both Somaliland and Puntland have accused the other of initiating the violence.
