Paul Albert Bissonnette (born March 11, 1985), nicknamed "Biz Nasty", is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Phoenix Coyotes. Bissonnette is currently a studio analyst for NHL on TNT, the color analyst for the Arizona Coyotes radio and a co-host along side former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney on the Barstool Sports hockey podcast '' Spittin' Chiclets''. The Quebec City mosque shooting (french: Attentat de la grande mosquée de Québec) was an attack by a single gunman on the evening of January 29, 2017, at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City, a mosque in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood of Quebec City, Canada. Six worshippers were killed and five others seriously injured after evening prayers when the gunman entered the prayer hall shortly before 8:00 pm and opened fire for about two minutes with a 9mm Glock pistol. Approximately 40 people were reported present at the time of the shooting. The perpetrator, 27-year-old Alexandre Bissonnette, pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree murder and six counts of attempted murder. On February 8, 2019, Bissonnette was sentenced to life in prison, with no possibility of parole for 40 years. Bissonnet Street is a major arterial road in Houston, Texas, United States. Bissonnet begins at Main Street in the Museum District of Houston and travels west-southwest through West University Place, Bellaire, Gulfton, Sharpstown, and Alief before terminating in unincorporated Fort Bend County near Mission Bend. Within the Interstate 610 loop, Bissonnet serves or passes a number of historic Houston neighborhoods, including Boulevard Oaks, Southampton and Shadyside. The ''Houston Press'' named Bissonnet the "Best Route into the City" in its 2007 awards, noting the road's route through "economically and ethnically diverse neighborhoods." Anik Bissonnette OC CQ (born 9 February 1962) is a Canadian ballet dancer; and was a principal dancer starting in 1990 with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Her father, Jean Bissonnette, was famous as a television director with Télévision de Radio-Canada. Bissonnette began her training at the École de danse Eddy Toussaint, primarily under Camilla Malashenko. In 1979, she joined Toussaint's troupe, Le Ballet de Montréal Eddy Toussaint. She created many leading roles in Toussaint's choreographies, including ''Rose La Tulipe'' (1979), ''Un simple moment'' (1981), ''Requiem de Mozart'' (1986), ''New World Symphony'' (1987), and ''Bonjour Brel'' (1988). Michel Bissonnet, MNA (born March 28, 1942) is a Canadian politician who served as Liberal member and President (House Speaker) of the National Assembly of Quebec. Background Bissonnet obtained a license in law at Université de Montréal in 1976 and was admitted to the Barreau du Québec the following year. Lise Bissonnette (born December 13, 1945) is a Canadian writer and journalist. Biography Born in Rouyn, Quebec, Bissonnette studied education science at the Université de Montréal from 1965 to 1970. She later pursued doctoral studies at the University of Strasbourg and the École pratique des hautes études in Paris. In 1974, she became a reporter for the daily newspaper ''Le Devoir''. Big Bill Bissonnette (February 5, 1937 – June 26, 2018) was an American jazz trombonist, drummer, and record producer. He was a strong advocate of New Orleans jazz as played by veteran African-American musicians. In the 1960s, he led his own group, the Easy Riders Jazz Band, formed his own label, Jazz Crusade, and organized northern tours for Kid Thomas Valentine, George Lewis, and Jim Robinson. He produced over 100 recorded jazz sessions for Jazz Crusade and appeared as trombonist or drummer on over 50 recording sessions of New Orleans jazz. The Easy Riders Jazz Band was one of the most acclaimed revival bands of the 1960s. Bissonnette brought Sammy Rimington to the United States. Alfred Pike (“Ted”) Bissonnet (1914–1979) was a Canadian diplomat. He was born in Stanstead, Quebec, the son of Alfred Joseph Bissonnet, an industrialist and Member of the Québec National Assembly from Stanstead, and Josephine Pike of neighbouring Derby Line, Vermont, and studied at Stanstead College and Bishop's University. Bissonnet joined the Black Watch regiment and served overseas in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands during World War II. He was wounded in the Netherlands and during his recovery in the UK applied to and later joined the Department of Trade and Commerce in 1946 following the end of the war. André Bissonnette, (born June 25, 1945) is a Canadian businessman and former politician. Born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Bissonnette, a businessman in the manufacturing industry, was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1984 election as the Member of Parliament for Saint-Jean, Quebec, in the Progressive Conservative landslide that brought Brian Mulroney to power. He was appointed by the new prime minister to the Cabinet as Minister of State for Small Business (1984–1986), and Minister of State for Transport (1986–1987). He was forced to resign from Cabinet on January 19, 1987, when it became known that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was investigating his alleged involvement in land speculation in his riding.
