Alfred Pike Bissonnet
Alfred Pike (“Ted”) Bissonnet (1914–1979) was a Canadian diplomat. He was born in Stanstead, Quebec, the son of Alfred Joseph Bissonnet, an industrialist and Member of the Québec National Assembly from Stanstead, and Josephine Pike of neighbouring Derby Line, Vermont, and studied at Stanstead College and Bishop's University. Bissonnet joined the Black Watch regiment and served overseas in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands during World War II. He was wounded in the Netherlands and during his recovery in the UK applied to and later joined the Department of Trade and Commerce in 1946 following the end of the war. Jean Despujols
Jean Despujols ( Salles en Gironde 19 March 1886-Shreveport, 1965) was a French, later naturalised American, painter. He was a pupil of Paul Quinsac at the école des Beaux-Arts of Bordeaux. In 1914 he won the Prix de Rome for painting but the outbreak of World War I suspended the French residencies at the villa Médicis. He had his stay in Rome after the war with his fellow painter Jean Dupas. His associations with America began in 1924-1936 as a teacher of the American art students sent to study at the École des Beaux-Arts de Fontainebleau. In 1936, he won the Prix de l'Indochine, and was selected by the Grand Conseil Economique of French Indochina to undertake a tour of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos painting and drawing what he saw. Robert Choquette
Robert Guy Choquette (April 22, 1905 – January 22, 1991) was a Canadian novelist, poet and diplomat. He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, and he moved with his family to Montreal in 1914. In 1968, he was appointed Canada's ambassador to Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. He served until 1970. In 1968, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada. In 1989, he was made a Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec. After his death in 1991, he was entombed at the Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery in Montreal. William Thomas Delworth
William Thomas Delworth (February 24, 1929 – October 29, 2012) was a Canadian diplomat and academic. Born near Weston, Ontario, Delworth studied at Weston Collegiate and Vocational School and at the University of Toronto where he received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1951 and a Master of Arts degree in modern history in 1956. A diplomat, he was the Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia (1970-1974), Hungary (1975-1978), Sweden (1984-1988), and the Federal Republic of Germany (1987-1992). After retiring in 1993 he taught at the University of Toronto where he was appointed Provost of Trinity College from 1996 to 2002.
