BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc. is a Canadian company based in Toronto that produces dietary supplement products for athletes and exercise enthusiasts. History Officially founded in 2009 by John Celenza and former professional ice hockey player Mike Cammalleri, BioSteel sports drink was originally sold to professional teams and franchises. In 2010, Gary Roberts reported that ice hockey players were drinking BioSteel during a ''Hockey Night in Canada'' playoff broadcast which led to BioSteel's expansion of their distribution to general consumers. Gary Roberts (ice Hockey)
Gary R. Roberts (born May 23, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 21 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Renowned for his physical fitness during his career, Roberts has become a high performance trainer for players at all levels of the sport. Roberts was a member of Memorial Cup and Minto Cup winning teams as Canadian junior hockey and box lacrosse champions, respectively. Orangeville (Canada 2016 Census 28,900) is a town in south-central Ontario, Canada, and the seat of Dufferin County. History The first patent of land was issued to Ezekiel Benson, a land surveyor, on August 7, 1820. That was followed by land issued to Alan Robinet in 1822. In 1863, Orangeville was named after Orange Lawrence, a businessman born in Connecticut in 1796 who owned several mills in the village. As a young man, he moved to Canada and settled in Halton County. During Upper Canada Rebellion, Mackenzie's rebellion in 1837, he was a captain in the militia. The BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game is an annual Canadian all-star game featuring high school basketball players. It was founded in 2015 by BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc. and Canada Basketball. Originally a boys basketball game, the event was expanded to include a girls game in 2019. The games features the top 24 male and female high school basketball players either born in Canada or playing in the country. The Canadian game has drawn comparisons to America's McDonald's All-American Game. The first boys game was attended by upwards of 60 executives and scouts from the National Basketball Association (NBA).
