Bell Centennial Arena, also known as Bell Arena for short, is a multi-purpose arena in Bells Corners in Nepean, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada that is located behind Bell High School at 50 Cassidy Drive former Cedarview Road before the new Veterans Memorial Highway (Ontario Highway 416) was built. History On the Thanksgiving weekend of 1965, township officials opened the first two centennial projects in Canada; the Merivale and Bell Centennial Arenas. The first declared open was Merivale adjacent of Merivale High School on Merivale road, and in a ceremony held 30 minutes away, the Bell Centennial Arena was then officially opened. Both projects had a combined cost in excess of $584,000. Merivale High School
Merivale High School (abbreviated as MHS, or 'Merivale' to students) is a public high school, located at the intersection of Merivale Road and Viewmount Drive in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (former city of Nepean, Ontario). The school is known for its International Baccalaureate student program, but also runs French Immersion programs and visual art, music, and co-operative education programs. Despite being designed for over two thousand students, Merivale High School's population fell to an all-time low of 650 students for the 2013-14 school year. This is attributed to changing neighbourhood demographics, as well as new schools in the subdivision of Barrhaven. It was announced in October 2016 that Merivale High School would add both grades 7 and 8 to increase student enrollment for the 2017/2018 school year. North Bay, Ontario
North Bay is a city in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is the seat of Nipissing District, and takes its name from its position on the shore of Lake Nipissing. North Bay developed as a railroad centre, and its airport was an important military location during the Cold War. The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey league operating in eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by the Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The Rockland Nationals are a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Rockland, Ontario, Canada. They are a part of the Central Canada Hockey League. The Rockland Nationals will begin play in 2017-18, after the Gloucester Rangers relocated to Rockland after nearly 50 years in Gloucester. King's Highway 416, commonly referred to as Highway 416 and as the Veterans Memorial Highway, is a 400-series highway in the Canadian province of Ontario that connects the Trans-Canada Highway ( Highway 417) in Ottawa with Highway 401 between Brockville and Cornwall.
